Disagree this is an excellent move. This is a challenge for the leaders in this team. And all will be forgotten when Kane is producing. If the leadership group can’t handle Kane for let’s call it 4 months then they should re-evaluate the leadership core.

I highly doubt the NMC is material in light of the bolded part of your comment. If he doesn't produce and/or he's a menace, no one in contention is introducing Kane into their roster. He's a high-risk cancer. Kane is a hail mary for a team that's falling apart.

You haven't heard half of the stories about Kane's actions that have led to where we are today. Shortly after arriving, he embarrassed the Organization with actions at an exclusive Club in SF. This was in spite of the "strong leadership group" of the 2 Joes..Even today, he shows no contrition for his prior actions and cares not a what about the consequences for him and his team.
On the Ice, Kane showed no self awareness of how his physical actions against the Officials worked against him and the team. After serving the 10 game suspension he continuously chirped and whined to refs about calls against him. The refs weren't inclined to give him any breaks and it led to additional penalties to be killed..or not. That attitude towards the Officials exist today and this will bite you during the Playoffs if not sooner.

Guy is going to win the Conn Smythe this year. Can't wait to see him play meaningful games deep in the playoffs.

I love watching McDavid and Draisaitl play. If Kane plays up to his capability this should help the team and benefit McD and Drai greatly. Yes there is risk but you have to take calculated risks to succeed. This situation resembles the Tony D situation. When Tony signed with the Canes,I expected a good year from him. Tony was given a last chance to get his head together and Kane is getting the same thing. No one knows how it will play out. But Kane knows this will prolong or kill his career. I like this move.

I hated Kassian as well, now I have his jersey. His contract is bad, but that's because he turned his life around. He also never laid hands on a woman (or did it multiple times). He had a coke problem, got help, and is a key part of the Oilers leadership.

That's why nothing will come of Virtanen's case. That's why Logan Mailloux is playing in the OHL, and there are countless of other pro athletes that avoid serious jail time for crimes like this.

Just because charges are dropped, does not mean a person is innocent. It could be a sign that the victim doesn't want to live through the trauma again in a heavily publicized case.
