I understand its difficult to see that a late 1st in a draft where the Sabres currently have multiple picks isn't as valuable as the only 1st they will have at that hump. Lets fill the team with garbage until that hump arrives.

Plug them in and trade for the gaps. But we do not know where exactly these gaps are since we have yet to see these kids play enough to know.

We know we need a RD or 2. We know we need a goalie until UPL/Levi/etc. are ready. We know we need a 1C but were not going to trade for one of those.

Ethan Bear is a solid player who can’t seem to get legit chance in a top 4 role. He’s an RFA

Cernak would be ideal

I’d look at Chicago for a deal for Debrincat

The Devils need some re-tooling, Jesper Bratt is an RFA, maybe they’d be open to dealing

He's 5th in goals/60. In the NHL. I would happily be wrong, but man are you insanely undervaluing him imo.

Amazing how that injury just completely derailed his season. He looked like he was finally starting to be able to carry the puck and make plays 5v5. He's a nightmare again.

Which is really just silly. Those are the two they need to move on from. Perhaps they think they won't be able to compete with their roster, so they're hoping those two will still sell tickets.

He's better, I just wonder if keeping those assets and throwing money at Kadri or Trochek or even Rakell would be a better option. Those picks, I think, will be needed to get the RHD we need IMO.
