Coyotes to play at ASU for a few years while they wait for a new, as-yet unapproved, arena?

They should have never moved out of Phoenix.

Move them back to QC where people love hockey and had their franchise ripped away from.

He reminds me a lot of Jeff Petry (lanky, not physical, efficient puck mover, otherwise unheralded) before he blew up. Everybody in EDM thought he was soft and hopeless. It started out that way in MTL too. Then he just blew up in his 30's.

I have no idea if Sanheim can turn a corner like that. But even if he can't, he's still a decent enough player that you can just set and forget him as your #3/4.

- Tomahawk

Hopefully one day he plays a consistent game to justify being a 3/4….because up till now he has not done that.

If the flyers put sanheim on the market at the trade deadline and offer salary retention he could bring a haul

They're drawing 11,575 per game this year so it'll be a hit to revenue for sure.

so do a lot of players. How many more years do you keep waiting? At what point do you except this the player he will be?

RR was also given the responsibility that Ivan was once a upon a time.

I think they would rather the 600 million expansion fee Quebec is willing to pay. The rumor being speculated is Houston, if they can’t get Arizona to work.

G, sanheim and Risto would all be great additions on the deadline. Was hoping Jones too but not so sure anymore. I still think Sanheim isnt being used properly here...but he may never be, so im fine shipping them all out. TK, only if i can get a good nhl ready prospect.

Houston is terrible. Harris County, TX is hell on Earth. Hockey would not thrive there.

Sanheim is an odd case where the advanced stats say one thing and the eye test says something else.
- MBFlyerfan

I don't consider goals for and allowed at even strength to be advanced, even when adjusted for minutes played, and they certainly do match the eye test.

KY has the worst ES GA/60, and Ristolainen is just behind.

Yandle 3.56
Risto 3.51
Cannauton 3.2
Provorov 3.04
Sanheim 3
York 2.96
Seeler 2.2
Braun 2.19

I'd Only retain on 2022 FA's. That's why a Giroux at a trade deadline prorated season salary that is at 50% retained on top of that makes him so attractive

If the flyers really want to aggressively retool (whatever that means) and they have a lot of chips to deal, why not make a play for Chychrun? Years left on a good cap friendly deal. A top level talent. Already established so better than most first round draft picks. Been reading the asking price is a first rounder, prospect and nhl player… certainly the flyers could be in on that. Would Sanheim and Frost be too much or not enough in such a deal? Especially if you move G and send the playoff teams 1st rounder? Just spitballing but that would be an aggressive retool. Could have something like Chychrun and a healthy Ellis along with Provorov and York as top 4 next year?

If they get a 1st for G and and other for Risto and maybe a pair of mid rounder for Jones they can make some solid moves up in the draft. Idk, just looking to find some positive here.
- hereticpride

Moving Ghost to make room for the Risto trade and the trade itself cost them the 14th overall pick in 2021, the ~37th overall pick in 2022, and then another 2nd in 2023 that will probably be in the 40s.

So Fletcher really does need to start recouping some of the assets he blew in the name of getting better defensively.
