IIRC, neither of them flunked a drug test (I think that Clemons may have tested positive for something that they didn't disclose, prior to steroids being illegal).
Which was my point when I asked this question this morning - is it fair to hold steroid use against guys when it has never been proven that they took steroids? - Atomic Wedgie
Clemens and Bonds tested positive for Career best seasons that were historically ridiculous in their mid 30s

He got caught with some gambling issues for games apparently, it’s why he quit being the player/coach in Detroit and spent his last two seasons with the A’s
Basically the league told him to quit but kept it silent and let him retire himself after 2 more years. - Dozzer
There was a conspiracy theory that the NBA caught Michael Jordan betting on basketball, but didn't want to tarnish his reputation, nor the league's reputation, so they quietly suspended him for two years, invented the whole scheme to have him "try baseball", and welcomed him back after he had served his suspension.

He took something stupid to take. May as well have blown a horse. - Zezel
If Ivermectin, a harmless and Nobel-honoured drug that treats many different ailments, is "stupid" to take, then why are there multiple clinical studies of its efficacy per COVID happening?
Has blowing a horse also been found to inhibit COVID in vitro too?
Look, it may turn out that IVM is relatively useless as a COVID prophylaxis or treatment, but to call it "stupid" or equate it to primarily a horse deworming drug (as the MSM tried to sell it) is silly.
Frankly, I think what worked for Joe Rogan's treatment are probably two things:
1) He's healthy as (frank)
2) Monoclonal Antibodies -- which apparently is super effective against COVID (but maybe not so much against Omicron?)

That I did not know at all.
Interesting rumour indeed tho…. I remember when he flipped sports and I thought it was odd

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The FDA has not authorized or approved ivermectin for use in preventing or treating COVID-19 in humans or animals. Ivermectin is approved for human use to treat infections caused by some parasitic worms and head lice and skin conditions like rosacea.

This behaviour lead past the expansion as well? Or was that when it started to get a touch cleaner? - Dozzer
The NHL was an absolute poopshow of a league until the mid-1990s.
It was run by Ziegler, Eagleson and Bill Wirtz, and they did whatever they wanted.
If you look at the expansion teams, they had no power, because all the teams were a franking mess.
1967: California Seals, LA Kings, Minnesota North Stars, Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins, St. Louis Blues. Flyers were successful, I think maybe the Stars and Blues were OK at first (though doubtful with the Blues) - the rest were poopshows.
1970: Sabres and Canucks. Neither good nor bad
1972: Islanders, Atlanta Flames.
1974: Washington Capitals, K.C. Scouts. Oh boy.
So yeah, still an absolute poop show, run by three criminals at the top.
There's some fabulous books out there about how just how poopy the NHL was run - for laughs, start with Sean McIdoe's The Down Goes Brown History of the NHL.

There's no evidence the horse dewormer does anything for Covid and it may be harmful. Taking it instead of a very effective, safe vaccine is really, really dumb. Broadcasting that to an audience you have influence over is irresponsiblity bordering on criminal. Rogan has undoubtedly gotten people killed with his influence. He's a disgrace at this point.

People were buying the horse deworming version because you could get it without a prescription, or a horse

I’ll have to see if I can find a digital copy of that book, know of any free ones?

I simply love this argument.
It's a drug that has demonstrated usefulness in combatting parasitic infections.
Yes, the inventors were honoured with a Nobel prize in 2015.
By the same logic, people with COVID should read the works of Svetlana Alexievich, because she won the Nobel prize for literature in 2015.
But if you aren't into Belarussian literature, may I suggest drinking urine?

It's also entirely possible that Joe Rogan was one of the millions of people who exhibited relatively mild symptoms of covid-19 and his recovery is attributed to not having a severe comorbidity or being a thousand old (and not the course of treatment he pursued)

London Public Library? - Atomic Wedgie
I guess I could see
Typically I just bring books up on my phone and read them, got used to doing that during lengthy hospital stays so I wouldn’t have to lug books in with me
