You know what seriously amazes me? Knowing hockey is supposedly Ek and the other dude's sole job. Do they think Fleury played well in the playoffs last year? Do they think Joe Sakic didn't see how Fleury played in the playoffs last year? Do they think Joe Sakic hasn't noticed how his goalies have played the last two months?

As I've stated numerous times...if Sakic brings in MAF then there is no way Kuemper considers signing an extension. You clearly don't believe in me so I'm outta here. MAF is also UFA. So is Francouz. Now we have zero goalies and were scrambling to sign UFAs like who - Holtby, Korpisalo, Jones. Is all of that worth it just to bring in MAF who isn't even an upgrade? Yeah mind boggling. But sources are saying this...

Excellent analysis. Plus he traded a 1st and a right shot D who played in the playoffs for Kuemper. To my recollection he hasn't traded any other firsts since he became GM. He wants Kuemper to succeed, he's not trading more assets for freaking MAF who, as you rightly noted, would not be an upgrade and does not have a confidence inspiring playoff record over his career.

On yesterday's pod Yeldon commented that MacKinnon has yet to show leadership in the playoffs and Augello that there’s not been a recent year Kadri wasn’t suspended in the playoffs…..how the @#%! has everyone seemingly forgot about the bubble…2 years ago. Kadri had 18 points in 15 games and Wayne Gretzky said Mackinnon’s playoff performance was the best he’d seen in the modern era.
