But yeah I think when you’re talking a 2 year deal for a guy that’s still producing, I think even with the old 35+ rules that’s not a huge deal. I think the full NMC is a much bigger deal. For two years I’m not worried about Carter retiring on us, I’m worried about him falling off a cliff and needing to trade him for cap relief.

I see it like Cullen. Cullen never retired on us but he sure did start to suck. If he was making $3mil we would have had to find a way to unload him.

The guy is smart as fvck, can play all 3 forward positions and is good for a PP or PK... If his production took a 50% hit he'd still be a good 4th line C... It'd be expensive if he was a 4th C but in my mind that's realistically as bad as he could get in 2 years... Hopefully I didn't jinx anything here 😔
