For the record I could less if the pens would win because of a hot goalie, shooting percentage, star power or luck. |

I think at the end of the day we're all like this, aren't we? |

Yeah we’re all just shooting the poop about how likely something is. I would be ecstatic if we won a Cup with every game being 1-0 due to Jarry having a .999 save percentage and our highest scorer is Sid with 12 points. |

Yeah. Jarry had a bad game. If we had gotten Jarry’s average it probably would have been 3-1 in the third. - Victoro311
My point is, Vic, the Pens had to come back 3 times last night. 2 power play goals and Boyle’s ridiculousness were the difference. Otherwise we had to play our balls off. The Great Ryan Wilson is making it seem like we toyed with the Yotes. They gave us a (frank)ing handful. Glad we won, and that we did it doubling up on them. But we gotta stay focused. |

Yup and goalies need some regular action in games to stay loose and ready.

I thought we weren’t focused at first but never doubted we could get back and win the game. Arizona wasn’t going to get this win in our barn. No way. We just had to pretend we cared in the 3rd period. |

And all 3 times they went in, the Yotes took the lead. First on a bad backcheck/Petts getting dispossessed. Second on a 5-3 with 2 first liners in the box. 3rd on a hideous giveaway in the neutral zone combined with a bad change. Jarry wasn’t super sharp but he is far from the only reason we gave up 3. What I’m trying to say is we didn’t exactly have our way with AZ til about 10 minutes to play. |

I can agree to that. The way GMRW is making it sound is that we flat out dominated and “padded stats.” Because no we didn’t. Not for 60 minutes. |

Hahaha. That's what this place is for, shooting the sh!t. When people bring up the Pens poor overall play in the 2017 run its a big whatever to me. It was one hell of an entertaining ride and their names are forever etched in the cup.
Speaking of shooting the sh!t, one of our best sh!t shooters, someone who leaves good thoughtful and thorough posts much like yourself, much better than most of mine, our bro Tojo... Have I just overlooked him popping in or has he been gone from here a while now? |

Damn they really baited some of you in the main thread. You all know the pens aren’t really contenders. - Feds91Stammer
Unfortunately, until this group of Pens' players, especially Jarry, can prove they can win in the playoffs, Feds is right!!!! |

Yeah I loved the 2017 cup run. Not as much as 2016 but it was still wonderful. The reason why it got relitigated into the ground is because some posters took some really stupid lessons from it, mostly about the importance of Kris Letang. It was never “2017 didn’t matter because we PDO’d our way to the Cup so it’s an asterisk”. It was always “We really should not put too much stock in 2017 when making roster decisions moving forward because a lot of stars aligned at the individual performance level that probably will not again”.
IDK about Tojo. I only recently got more active again. I get extreme sports tunnel vision during the college football season and only fully check into the Pens and Sixers around mid December. |

Haha yeah the Pens mostly controlled that game start to finish...I think the having to tie it 3 times gives the illusion of them not playing well when really it was just an off night for the Jar.

EDIT: Straight up I think if we found a way to acquire MAF to be the backup I think it would have an affect on the locker room that could propel us to a team of destiny cup. - Victoro311
What I wouldn't give for that to happen. Sadly and realistically it likely never will. I just don't see how the Pens make a realistic/reasonable trade there. Chicago is certainly going to want far more than what they gave for him. |

They gave Vegas nothing essentially, but yah they are still going to want something if only for the salary retention. |
