I was of that opinion for quite some time. But, I feel that since we have racked up so many more points than expected (regardless of how or why) and having a one season Salary Cap window for adding a major piece for a playoff run, there is precious little chance management sits on their hands. I agree whole heartedly that they should not empty the cupboard, but our cupboard over-runneth. - Tonybere

How would everyone feel if rather than bringing in JT Miller, Drury took the budget route on forward adding Colin Blackwell and Phil Kessel (preferably R Smith if available).
Know it’s not that exciting, but do think it makes us deeper and probably only costs one piece each. Liked Blackwell last season too and he’s already familiar with Strome and Panarin. |

As a last resort maybe, but only if they strike out on other options. That is probably the worst case scenario moves I would make |

yeah, re-acquiring Blackwell is like if 3pm passes on trade deadline day, Rangers have no deals at all, and then at 3:30 pm we find that the Rangers still have one trade to announce and it's Colin Blackwell

Based on jersey colors, looks like #NYR practice lines are:
Kreider - Zib - Gauthier
Panarin - Strome - Goodrow
Laf - Barron - Hunt
McKegg - Rooney - Reaves |
|
|
|
Yea that's a cool idea, go for the all star game one. Too bad you can't get the team USA one - TPC
I wish, maybe a BC one |

Interesting, initials of the two two right wingers match the coach's. Conspiracy theory? |

Get two rentals at a minimum without overpaying or taking away a future core piece. |

Yea that’s what I’m thinking too. Likely driven by the price of other options skyrocketing.
Wouldn’t be overly excited about it, but do think it would make us better. |

I am really pulling for the rental route. Pavelski would be ideal in my opinion.
They have so much space they could go nuts and add Hertl too. |

Nice additions, don't think it really helps that much though.

I like the dude and wish he had hands and a shot, but it just isn't working. He really needs to reinvent himself like Kreider has. Then he will probably have success. |

He has shown exactly one move. And, unless I misremember, hasn't scored with it since pre-season. |

guaranteed Kessel is getting traded, there's never been more of a chance of a player getting traded before deadline
only thing is where, maybe he'll end up back in Pitt
