I don't think they feel comfortable with two rookies together
they want Schneider playing with a vet
hopefully they want a better vet than Nemeth by the deadline though - jimbro83
Yea true. Only way it really works is if they split Fox and Lindgren, but don’t really see that happening.
Although Lindgren-Schneider would probably be awesome together. Future bash brothers. |

the problem with that is, if Dell got suspended, who does it really hurt - jimbro83
He would not have done it is CK20 played for Ottawa. It's nice to know we have a deterrent on our team to stop goalies being dbags.

So, the cost of acquiring a guy who fills basically every need we have could be a draft pick that very likely would be 20th or later, a guy who is under achieving and a guy that doesn't want to play for us, and you still think its a bad idea???
I just don't understand what move you could ever possibly think is ok.
Is the team never to make a trade again? - Tonybere
He doesnt answer every need we have. The bottom 3 defense isnt playing well, meaning Miller and 5/6 D and it doesnt address the wingers and 4th line not producing. Laf and KK on the 1/2 lines arent producing. Goodrow produced when he was moved up but then that will hurt the forth line if he isnt there. |

All of our assets now have NMC, CK20, Panarin, Zib, Trouba, Fox, Lingren, Goodrow. cant sell them. Strome is a FA. The Hunts, Rooneys and Reaves have little trade value. Whats left are the kids who have under performed so far.
If Chytil, KK and Laffy have shown some progress and produced, most definitely go for it. Miller hasnt built on his good rookie campaign. 5/6 slots on defense hasnt been good at all. - Brukie just shut up for once

it really is a terrible play what Dell did
all Batherson is thinking there is not touching the goalie out of fear he'd get called for the slightest thing and Dell does that to him
toss him from league |

TPC, I need to get a Kreider jersey, which one? Do I go for this year's All-Star Game or a different one? |

I have Batherson in my home league, needless to say I am pissed. a dirty play with no penalty called but should have league discipline. |

So, the answer is to not try and improve the team?
Acquiring Miller solidifies the top 6, pushing someone down and lengthening the forward line up. Or, he plays 3C himself. Same result. He improves our faceoff prowess and adds another ppg scorer.
Our defense is not nearly so inept as some of you would like to believe. Schneider has already improved the 3rd pairing and Jones doesn't seem to be far from making the jump. K'Andre is the current whipping boy, but that is largely bias, IMO. He is young and improving, while providing more takeaways than giveaways. Also playing beside someone having his best season.
It is quite possible to sit and wait too long. If we follow your ideas about when we are ready to make a move, the window will be closed. |

it's on par with Dale Hunter/Pierre Turgeon, in terms of a non expecting player getting hit

I said to wait a year, let the team go thru the playoff cycle together and gel. Get that playoff experience. Then start adding the pieces next year.

so wait until we have no cap space, but don't use this year's ridiculous amount of cap space

With the extra cap space it does not hurt to look to add supplemental pieces that are not cost prohibitive. Once you get into the playoffs you play to win... the experience is a byproduct. So why not add a piece or two to help.

I was of that opinion for quite some time. But, I feel that since we have racked up so many more points than expected (regardless of how or why) and having a one season Salary Cap window for adding a major piece for a playoff run, there is precious little chance management sits on their hands. I agree whole heartedly that they should not empty the cupboard, but our cupboard runneth over. |

This is the biggest thing, the Rangers will have no cap space next year. Unless players are on LTIR they can't add anyone lol |
