Scheifele would be the toughy. However, if were gauging the value of JT Miller in a trade is a 1st, Lundkvist and Chytil... and Miller is on par with Scheifele over the last couple years couldnt this be used for him?

There’s no doubt in my mind that Scheifele would cost more than Miller. His cap is also more and for longer. There’s also no reason to believe they’ll trade him

Lafreniere is going to have to move to the right wing in order to get top six minutes in New York. If there is doubt that he can handle the move, the Rangers are going to have to consider their options. (Even now, with a temporary right-side vacancy on the Zibanejad-Kreider Connection, head coach Gerard Gallant is opting to fill the void with Julien Gauthier rather than No. 13.)

And yes, you think about an Elias Pettersson or a Bo Horvat coming back in a mega-deal to fill that spot in the middle behind Zibanejad. But Pettersson is carrying an unaffordable cap hit of $7.35 million and though Horvat’s $5.5 million AAV hits the sweet spot, he only has one more year on his deal.

Still, I would be surprised if Vancouver does not make an inquiry.

If he was an agent that truly cared about LaFranchise, why would he bring him thousands of miles further away from his parents/family? Why would he want to remove him from a first place team and bring him to the rudderless mess that has been Vancouver? Just because he was his agent, doesn't mean he is going to try to remove him from NY ---- simply nonsense...

Im sure assistant GMs are briefed on some trades once time of another. Im sure that teams inquire about players availability all the time, especially young ones not meeting expectations. Aside from Pettersson, Im not interested in anyone else, unless they dont sign Strome and trade for Miller.
