Bill is this team going to go down as the worst in franchise history?
- 2Real

Last years clown show allowed 6+ goals 11 times in 56 games. They follow that circus act with this poop show season.

The Sabres had an 18 game losing streak last year and poop pumped these bums 6-1.

I would rather watch an entire team of Scottie Upshalls circa 2007 play an entire season than another minute of any of this garbage.

Is that a rhetorical question?

Enough if enough. These MIN Wild alumni club dip poops have no idea what they're doing.

🎶 Fletcher, Flahr, Yeo... they've got to go! 🎶

Time to give Carolina a call... bring Eric Tulsky home... give somebody who actually has a clue a shot.

My biggest issue we need to resolve before we do further damage to our prospects. Why has everyone regressed? TK, Provy, Sanheim, Oskar and more. These players should be better than they are. Ghost was another one. Are they all being lazy? Asked to do things they don't know how to do? Can we use their strengths more instead of changing who they are? I don't know the answer, but it needs to be figured out before we go through another draft and more players not developing as they should.

A couple years ago, we had one of the better prospect bases.... nothing elite or even top line, but some decent nhl players projected. I'm not sure that is the case anymore. We need to fix that first and foremost, or it might not matter who we draft.

Buckle up. Flyers are the new Sabres. And will be for the foreseeable future. Organization needs gutted and anything less than that is unacceptable.

So, if you look at the schedule, I don’t see any games in the next 11 that we can resonably expect to win Chicago may be the next winnable game. Maybe Edmonton. Regardless, there’s no chance this doesn’t get to 20. I think we’ll surpass Pittsburgh’s/ buffalos record.

Starting to research top 15 prospects over here in while still in January. As is tradition. Sigh.
- hereticpride

That’s the real issue. I think if we don’t get anyone back and this is the team, we could fall lower than all but zona and the habs.

At this point, to NOT make a coaching change, ship a player or two out, and begin the interview process for a new GM is negligent. In no way am I saying this organization & team can miraculously turn things around this season by doing one of or all of the above. IF the organization’s message to the players and fanbase is to ride out the season, in the hopes that it will improve the team’s draft position, it’s disgraceful. And for those posters on here too young to remember, Ed Snider actually CARED about the fans, and did ALL he could do in his power to assemble a coaching staff and players that fought (literally and figuratively) hard to win, as well as seethed after every loss. It’s what made the Flyers special. As currently assembled from top to bottom, this team, this organization is nothing special, and dam* near unwatchable.

The NHL trade market has not developed yet. Teams that will be looking to add for the playoffs are going to have to wait until much closer to the deadline. Youth for youth and hockey trades are something that is much more likelier to happen in the off season.
They need to get the next coach right. It's not something that they should rush.

Of course the same cast of characters are defending, rationalizing, excuse making this franchise's failures it is mind boggling. But I'm not surprised.

Remember years and years ago during hexy era how I kept saying it was always a 10 year rebuild? And I got called crazy and no team or fan base would ever accept that? Are we seeing the picture now or nah? When you have no top prospects and bad nhl contracts to do rebuild properly it’s a 10 year process. Guess what…. We’re here again!!! Well almost. I’d say 7-8 years because we do at least have a few pieces and not completely saddled with tons of horrible contracts… YET. DO WE SEE JUST HOW BAD COOTS EXTENSION IS NOW? Hopefully fletch fired and new gm doesn’t sign risto long term.

Hextall failed because he tried to rebuild and compete at the same time which is a flawed plan. It’s not just that the players picked in the middle of the 1st round are typically not as good as the ones at the top but that they usually require more developmental time. That pushes the timeline further into the future and also pushes the currently players on the roster out of their prime years. Add to his over reliance on AHL seasoning instead of giving young guys significant minutes at the NHL level to hasten the learning curve and you have a long rebuild.

The other issue with the compete a little rebuild a little rebuild is believing the rest of the league remains static. In reality by the time the teams in front in the standings start to decline, teams worse than the Flyers at the start of the rebuild end up surpassing them because they are choosing higher quality players at the top of the draft and at the top of each subsequent round. Toronto and Hextall’s Flyers started their rebuild the same year. Yes Toronto hasn’t won a playoff series with that group yet but what team would you rather buy a ticket to see? Carolina and Florida were two other teams below the Flyers when Hextall took over.

Hextall’s plan was flawed to begin with. Add a big bust rate of draft picks and that’s why the Flyers are in the dumpster. A proper rebuild however shouldn’t take 10 years to put an exciting product on the ice. The Flyers have enough middle of the roster talent already. They just need top line players. A quick drop to the bottom over the next two to three seasons and this could be turned around if they pick the right players.

What about the next GM? Wouldn’t it be better to get someone in now to evaluate the situation instead of in the offseason. It would also be better if the new GM made the trades at the deadline instead of lame duck Fletcher.

3. If Philadelphia had been willing to take a late-round pick for Martin Jones, it’s possible he would already be an Edmonton Oiler. But the Flyers wanted something better and felt the market will strengthen as we get closer to the deadline. Name a goalie -- Alexander Georgiev, Braden Holtby, Ville Husso, Anton Khudobin, Joonas Korpisalo, Vitek Vanecek, Semyon Varlamov -- they looked at it. There undoubtedly are others, rentals, non-rentals, you name it.

Will be funny if Jones ends up staying. Goalie market gonna be flooded it seems.

2 records this year I predict. Longest losing streak in history and yandles iron man streak.

I keep forgetting, we haven’t won in 2022. That’s special.
