I am generally concerned with audio quality and do have a decent hifi setup as well as a small home studio setup. The difference in quality between other services in spotify is noticeable on 30 dollar sony on-ear headphones though. It's not about washy sounding high end, it's literally volume changes from the audio compression (like, not bit compressions, volume evening compression) applied to the audio.
I'm not sure I need to stream lossless audio when I'm running around the city and generally buy records if I really want to listen, and some of the more obscure services don't have the catalogue of weird underground stuff I like. Will probably give one of the other big services a try again. - TheMussel
Over the years, I've invested some time, money and effort into quality audio equipment. I still have a substantial vinyl collection, some older wax and plastic cylinders and some reel to reel tapes. While I noticed immediately this mssing high end range when CD's were introduced in the late 80's, there is significant convenience in having digital formats in a car, where car and street/highway noise far outweigh audio performance. I don't get involved with streaming services, rather look for quality recordings, regardless of medium. Hard to beat direct to disc recordings on quality audio equipment. I also look for live recordings of some of the better concerts that I have witnessed. My cell phone never comes out of my pocket at a concert.

Ya, I flagged Komi sore ass a couple of times accidently on purpose. He continues to lower the bar on trolling. - winsix
The 'report post' feature seems to be wonky still folks so if you have been flagging posts neither Dozzer or I have been able to see that. We can't be here all the time but when I jump on I try to do a quick scan back in the current comments and clean up anything that needs cleaning up.
Thx

Anyone else here uncomfortable that Bonds and Clemens weren't elected to the Hall of Fame?
At the end of the day, neither of them were ever convicted of using steroids.
Do I think they juiced? 100%
But with no proof, I can't agree with keeping them out. - Atomic Wedgie
I am honestly unhappy about it. The personal and obviously colluded opinions of a bunch of writers made this happen. It happened more because Bonds and Clemens were all-day-bumholes, because they would have found reasons to put other guys in the Hall. There are other players in there who I'd have suspicions about . . I mean how Harold Baines got in to begin with is baffling, but I'm always specious when a guy's second best home run total comes at age 40.
They both obviously juiced. There was also never any proof or conviction, as you said. There are other guys who I think had similar connections (Piazza, Jones, Bagwell . . if my memory serves; I'm not going to go look up this stuff) who are in - but they weren't mean to the poor media. |

It would be tempting.
Maybe they can do 1st and dermott and what ever - senstroll
If the Leafs are giving up a 1st, Wood better be in the package coming to the Leafs. IMO. |

Two years ago, we cleaned out my parents' garage.
There were three boxes of 78s. No, not rare jazz - just a mishmash of crap.
I know they aren't worth anything, but I couldn't bear to just ship them off to a landfill. I took them home, put them in my basement, and had a plan to call around to second-hand record shops to see if they would want them for free.
That was two years ago, and they are still in my basement storage room, taking up too much space. |

Car audio is a weird thing for me personally... it's my reference space and my preferred sound is tape in a car stereo. Generally now it's one of the places where I hear the most difference in quality when listening back to digital music in general.
Are you able to listen to the wax cylinders? |

Then there's the british dude who's been trudging through a garbage dump for 8 years looking for a harddrive that has an estimate couple of hundred million dollars on it now - TheMussel
I have a friend that did quite well financially buying old PC's. He especially liked finding generation 1 and 2 IBM computers, bought them at a reasonable price and would recover significant quantities of gold. Mainframes from the early 70's would have over $20K in gold in them. |

NJ isn’t early in their rebuild, I’d imagine the main piece they want back would have to be close to the NHL or already in it.
Plus he is 27 and offers a long term option.
I would like Wood in the trade as well, they are saying he might not play this regular season.
But would be expensive. More than Muzzin. - Santo_44
since we agree, I assume its terrible and would get laughed at by non leaf fans

I still can't believe the Muzzin deal was so cheap so you'd imagine it will be a little more hefty this time around.
Lil is just in that sweet spot where he still oozes potential but is already a proven NHLer.
If NJD were ever going to trade him I'd think that is the best they'd get out of any team.
Plus the Miles Wood addition just screams Dubas.

Yes, I have two pristine Edisons, I am looking to buy a good used Archeophone, but they are really pricey. I remember having a Nakamichi tape deck in my car, the sound was great, but cars have virtually no soundproofing from engine and brake noise. |

If you missed out on 8 track, you just missed out. I remember working in a camp in the NWT where I brought up an 8 track player and some tapes that I set up in the compound. There was a little skip in the middle of Otis doing Try a Little Tenderness and whenever I hear that song now I expect that skip. |

And one other random question before I get to work:
Why can't you change the voice prompt on all our smart stuff, so that "Hey Siri" or "Hey Alexa" or "Hey Google" becomes "Hey Einstein?" - Atomic Wedgie
When product is called "Einstein", you'll be allowed to call it 'Einstein".
