a huge portion of news, or media in general, sets the bar so its appealing to even the LCD. in many places, especially the USA, targetting the LCD can be very effective and profitable. - prock
There’s a difference between dumbing down the news and ongoing, deliberate misinformation. The latter is far more dangerous. By giving credence to Trump’s arguments that the election was stolen, Fox undermines confidence in the electoral system which provides cover for moves to restrict voting rights in the name of election security.
Most actual news reporting is done to a pretty high standard. Opinion stuff is all over the place.
Or using the term "moron" implying an intellectual deficiency, for someone with serious character flaws. - winsix
If by implying you mean believing then I agree. I do believe that Van Morrison is stupid ..ie. has come to suffer from a lack of intelligence OR common sense.

Sorry but Willie loves the libs. He’s been performing and raising money for Beto O’Rourke and Democratic candidates for years. He’s also a big soy fan which isn’t surprising to anyone who knows about Farm Aid.
(He makes Trigger sound real pretty in this tune.)

If you're an audiophile and you really care and have the speaker setup for it, then one of the higher definition options (I think TIDAL and Qobuz fall into this category) might be good, but if you're a casual enjoyer of music or you're not wandering around with $300 headphones, then Spotify works.
The larger the streaming service, the less they can charge, but the more they'll have to compress to stream out the content. The smaller the service the more quality they can push out, but the more they have to charge to stay afloat.
I haven't kept up on it at all, but last time I looked (which was pre-COVID), TIDAL was losing money. I don't know how well Qobuz was doing. But I think these guys were in that $20 - $25 USD / month for high def streaming. - Monkeypunk

What if you took a picture of that unopened box and made it an NFT? - Atomic Wedgie
I'm afraid, I missed out on the NFT and Bitcoin boats. Being an art lover, I have difficulty comprehending value in NFT's. As far as bitcoin goes I think about the story of the mad Hungarian that was one of Bitcoin's founders that made himself poor at the same time making a Pizza Chain rich.

I am generally concerned with audio quality and do have a decent hifi setup as well as a small home studio setup. The difference in quality between other services in spotify is noticeable on 30 dollar sony on-ear headphones though. It's not about washy sounding high end, it's literally volume changes from the audio compression (like, not bit compressions, volume evening compression) applied to the audio.
I'm not sure I need to stream lossless audio when I'm running around the city and generally buy records if I really want to listen, and some of the more obscure services don't have the catalogue of weird underground stuff I like. Will probably give one of the other big services a try again.

Crypto currency is a giant ponzi scheme that will eventually crash, but damn is it ever tempting to get in and make some money - and then get out. - Atomic Wedgie
Did you read the article? Imagine paying about $4 billion for a couple of low end pizzas and ending up broke.

I'm slightly tone-deaf, so music has never really been a big part of my life (I currently have two songs stored on my iPhone, and Free to Be (Go Leafs Go) is one of them.
Spotify is perfect for me. I use music as background noise - I don't listen to it as a primary activity.

Then there's the british dude who's been trudging through a garbage dump for 8 years looking for a harddrive that has an estimate couple of hundred million dollars on it now

All I can envisage is a monty python skit where the poor bastard climbs out of a pile of garbage with it in his hands saying "I found it" 3 hours after Bitcoin crashes.

In terms of making money yes...but it’s here to stay.

Is anyone else coming to the conclusion that Komisaurus Rex is just trolling? - Atomic Wedgie
i dont think hes trolling, I think he's serious. I think he's a Habs homer to the extreme, and everything he posts you have to take with a grain of salt. i get the sense he thinks the Habs are going to get a first rounder for Chiarot, plus more. Hes just a little deluded IMO.

That's generally my thing - I have PowerAmp with a bunch of local WAV or higher rate MP3 files on my phone if I want to listen to music on good headphones - but if I'm tooling around the house making supper or just cleaning up, the music isn't coming out of anything _good_. We have a couple of Google Assistants, an older system up in the upstairs landing that has a Chromecast Audio attached to it, and the main TV is also connected - so you can sort of stream Spotify simultaneously to all of these around the house with one request to a Google device (for us - Alexa for others; Chacun son gout) - so I like Spotify for that.
i wouldn't be against TL, I have no idea on wood value
But if its TL, id go something like 2022 1st, Lil and Richie and a prospect for Severson/Wood
I assume there is cap issues with this - senstroll
I’d imagine Wood will get Kase’d this off-season unless he can prove he is healthy in a playoff run.
Yeah that would be it. If they then trade Dermott for a pick and a 750K 7th D then I believe cap works out.
600K more to the Leafs, which pro rates to around 200-300K and the leafs have nearly 1M in deadline cap space.
I’d do that trade, NJD and the Leafs come out a winner here I’d say. The Leafs would be able to re sign him with Muzz and Brodie contracts almost done and 1 being gone.
