Which is incredible. Not having Jack for 2/3 of the season probably exacerbated the issue, but Staal and Hall being worthless, allowing Eakin to play and having the worst coach in NHL existence set the bar so low that anglerfish can swim over it.

I can only speak for myself

I don’t watch them anymore. Ever. It’s weird. I didn’t even check the score until 9pm last night

With no superstar and absolutely terrible goaltending I have no reason to tune in

Sorry, watching Dahlin and Alex Tuch doesn’t do it for me

When they start trying to win I’ll watch again

Or when I bet against them

Mitts is at a turning point in his career. The first 15 minutes he was buzzing around the net. The last 45 minutes he kind of disappeared. Not gonna hold it against him since it was his first game back.

If he turns into a solid 3rd line center I would be more than happy. Turn into the Derek Roy of 05-06 and we are doing alright.

I've been optimistic about him since Day 1 with Donny. It's going to take him a bit of time to get to game shape. He's got his whole new mentality and approach, and with his talent, he's going to be a strong player. Such a shame his year has gone sideways. I look forward to the second half.
- TheSabresTaco

Everyone was happy with him the way he finished last season. He's got to stay healthy. His chances will get fewer and fewer if he doesn't stick for the rest of the year. Now or never, Mitts.

Tim Connolly without the injuries is an elite, elite player. Artemi Panarin.

Yeah, I remember him in the playoffs in 06 against Ottawa he controlled the whole game. Dude was like magic. Then he got a concussion

Most of the young pieces here are staying. Maybe keep Pysyk. Maybe even Hagg. I have no use for Bryson, Asplund and Bjork. We have three first round picks and maybe a good FA or two. The rest of the UFAs can all do whatever. I imagine keeping Jankowski at 4C would be an upgrade over Eakin, but I still think it wouldn't be hard, even for Buffalo, to upgrade the spot.

Sorry Hank, but Larry would be an upgrade in this spot.

i don't know about that...he had all the skill in the world but still only managed to average around 12 goals and 37 points his first four seasons in the league where he only missed three total games...

that said, his skill-level was impressive and i see the same tendencies in mitts

He was poorly managed and started in the NHL at 18

He turned the corner in the 06 playoffs and then got a concussion. He was only like 24 then.

I don't blame you. I don't always have the game on either. I was home with the kids and they like the hockeys so we watched the Flyers game and most of last night too. I was happy for Ennis.

Most of the time, I'm watching the players, not the game.

Like I've mentioned, I'm done with Bjork, Asplund, and now Bryson. Our defense is soft and he's the epitome of it.

I think that is over rated

any 18 year old nhl player is gonna learn a lot more practicing with nhl'ers then with the dalton smiths and remi elies of the world in the ahl

either they have the drive or they do not and coming into camp out of shape proves he didn't have the drive

it's up to him to find it and him alone or he can go the way of nylander in the near future

i'd say that mitts has been poorly managed too...i'd also point out that he left college a year too early and started his nhl career at the age of 19 with only a 36-game stint in the ahl as a 19/20 yr. old...

before i'm misquoted, tim connolly was an absolute stud post 04/05 lockout, prior to injuries...i'm not saying mitts is at or will reach that level, but i see a lot of similarities in the way they play the game as well as the skills they have at their disposal

soooo. the Sabres are averaging probably about 1/4 of the arena on a good day.

people are just done with them.

Its not bandwagon, its not wasting time on a product that has been absolute garbage for 13 years.

Not really but whatever

I go to the harbor center every year for the prospects camp and tournament, spend money (not this year) going to games.

I’m tired of them being literally the worst team in hockey

Yes they learn but sometimes it's not the most appropriate location for their development. Often times these kids need duller competition to grow their games.

It's not always 'just throw him in the NHL he'll be fine'.

If you got the poop kicked out of you every single time you entered the field of play, are you actually learning, growing? Or are you just learning that you're not good enough? Guys gotta grow in the environment that suits them.

casey is not gong to make it, I'll take Vinny.

IMO, he is too Soft to play in the NHL.
