Is Knox good enough?
- washedup20

….But he has cinder blocks for hands. He drops all of the routine catches and catches all of the 15% catches.
We need an every down TE.
What we need is a Mike Gesicki
I would seriously trade Edmunds for Gesicki straight-up.
- BeadyEyedDouche

Gesicki is a UFA...
- ImThatGuy

Well hot damn, then! Didn't see that info.
Go sign him now
- BeadyEyedDouche

Regardless, I think we need another TE
- BeadyEyedDouche

That sounds like you saying his drops are a problem, but I've drank a few too many white russians, so don't pay attention to me.
- Wanchuk

No, its not what I said. Learn how to (frank)ing read.
- BeadyEyedDouche

He absolutely does drop the most routine passes. He does. He honest to god did it on Sunday at the start of the game. It was a 3 yard slant. Wide open. Stone hands.

Oh wow I am very impressed you scored so high on something that has nothing to do with completely failing to understand that unless someone says “Dawson Knox’s drops are a problem” you can’t just decide to run with it.

He absolutely does drop the most routine passes. He does. He honest to god did it on Sunday at the start of the game. It was a 3 yard slant. Wide open. Stone hands.

How that became “Dawson Knox’s four drops are not a problem” isn’t entirely lost on me here, either, what with the green blur doing his daily drive-by.

P.s. i am very impressed by your wonderlic score sire please teach me how to smart

Oh my god dude what is your point?

I would love Gesicki on this team, and anyone should be happy adding another weapon like him. And yes, I do think he is more of an "every down" type of TE. Because I think he can block better than Knox.

But in the red zone, Knox is on the field for me regardless. Only you would go off about having a second TE to throw it to in the Red Zone, and only you would quote 6 posts incorrectly and piece it together as

Dawson Knox's 4 drops are a serious problem

All you are doing is screaming into the wind like you always do. You don't engage in any kind of serious discussion, you don't provide an argument against him dropping routine passes, which is what I've actually said, and you honest to god sat here all night arguing with yourself.

Yes, I like Mike Gesicki. Dawson Knox is a play-making tight end. Somehow, you will quote this as:

Mike Gesicki is better than Dawson Knox because he gets stoned too much while routinely passing drops

What are you actually trying to say? What am I disagreeing with you about? I literally said Dawson Knox is a play-making tight end, while also never saying his drops are a problem. I did say I want to add Mike Gesicki to the team.

But please, continue to act like an abused cocker spaniel with separation anxiety. Don't let me stop you from drooling all over yourself.

Have at it, Fitz.

From Don Granto, as quoted on The Athletic...

You thrust that many young players with limited experience into this situation, everybody says the buzzwords of, ‘Lose confidence.’ Our guys have not lost confidence. It’s actually been fuel for them. It’s enhanced their belief system in one another, in what we’re doing and where we’re going.

“You’re always close, close, close, then it turns and becomes easy. We’re not to that point yet, but we’re going to get there.”

This should, once again debunk the notion expressed on this board by some here who think the losing this season is going to permanently damage the Sabres players.

Let's just drop this narrative and classify it as Fake News brought to you ala Don Lemon (and I'll stop there so as not to incite a political discussion).

Couple that with Alex Tuch's interview by Custnance (sp) and others, and that false narrative by Debbie Downers can finally be shot into the moon.

The Don is perfect for this job of developing the young guys in Buffalo this year and next, while honing his in game coaching skills and game tactics. Apart in Rochester is doing s fabulous job of getting the kids ready to perform in the NHL when the time is right. Adams, a Buffalo guy with great NHL experience who properly values the positive impact of culture on taking skilled players to the next level is assembling a strong core of very young players and bringing in the right pieces of the puzzle...Tuch is a prime example.

I'm excited for the future of this franchise for the 1st time in like 5 or 6 years, and I have been among the most critical posters of the Sabres organization during that time.

Agreed. They need more skill for sure.
They also have a supply of new light bulbs in their supply cabinet to change the non-working and flickering bulbs in the tunnel.
Not enough yet, but the Lowes, Amazon and Home Depot stores are right around the corner in the form of Trades, FA period, and the Draft to restock the cabinet

An in season losing streak can create thoughts as a player that what your doing isn't working.

Losing for a season makes you reassess your full routine.

Playing for an organization built to lose makes you question your loyalty to that organization.

When professional players, multiple ex captains and high end players continue to say it sucks the fun out of a game they are paid millions for is a major red flag.

But the first time coach with the worst losing record in the history of the franchise says the players aren't losing confidence so ignore all this other evidence..........

To believe anything coming out of this organization is foolish, listen to the players who have won elsewhere and their comments on Buffalo. They love the city hate the organization. Losing matters, winners avoid places like:

Arizona
Buffalo
Edmonton
New Jersey

It's not the individual players lost confidence, the real problem is the organization as a whole becomes loser town and its takes a Josh Allen type to dig themselves out. The entire team looked horrible, soft and uninterested last night. Mittlestadt is the perfect player for Buffalo.

--first off, 'permanently' was never a part of the conversation

--second, don lemon has shown the propensity to have the brains of a lemon, but the walls are closing in on the perpetrators of the fake ride many have been on the past five-plus years (yeah, right, "not trying to be political")

--and third

losing to win:

--sabres record from the first tank year on: 226-346-85, worst in the nhl (quick note, the vegas golden knights could very well pass buffalo in the win column next season playing a few hundred less games)
--ryan o'reilly- forced his way out
--sam reinhart- subtly forced his way out
--taylor hall- came and went
--jack eichel- aggressively forced his way out

and rasmus dahlin shuns a long-term deal for a bridge that puts him in control should he want out

I put no blame on Meatball, his calmness is what’s needed for this organizations long term plan. It looks like he still has the trust of the fans and players, saying what he said about individual players confidence is a very Krueger-like move.

I think the long term plan will require too much current sacrifice which resets the cycle all over again. Planning to lose this season and the next is what I’m against and their only counter to this is if you don’t want to be here you’re gone.

The biggest indictment of the franchise is they are equally adapt at losing even when they are trying to be a winning team.
