Only time you recognize Laf is when… oh wait, that doesn’t fit the narrative

Lol could you imagine if Laf didn’t score after Byfield did

No narrative just made a statement which up until shootout was a fact. oh though after seeing replay it wasn't a penalty. Just wanna see him flash his skill more in the actual game more

I know, just poking some fun.

I thought there were multiple times Laf made solid plays. Deke in a corner and drive to a net, couple of zone entries, took the body a few times.

I fully expected it but he looked so smooth and buried it.

Because were the Rangers, and when the guy who got drafted #2 behind you scores and its your turn up...

I dunno what to tell you. Its not because its LAF, its because were the Rangers.

BTW, I dont typically talk down on LAF.

In the first period when he was with with Strome and Goodrow I posted about some subtle razzle dazzle. It was LAF I was talking about skating up the middle of the ice, cutting through three defenders and getting a dump in deep.

I hear ya and maybe I'm a little impatient because this is our number 1 pick game changing player and I want him to produce like others have. if he and kakko ever play to their hype and potential this team will be scary.

He toe dragged the poop out of a defender and made a great play to the net. Camera angle cut it off.

His skills are starting to catch up to his compete level. I feel like the last few games he’s playing at a high level.

He’s finishes more often than not when getting into prime scoring positions, they’re just very few and far in between.

I think it’s more about the coaching and his role on the team than it is about his skill set.

He needs better, consistent line mates.

Also, he has some deceptive speed he doesnt always use.

I think its time for them to try LAF with Zib and Kreider, the same way they just used Panarin.

I’m all for him learning the little details of being an elite, complete player early on. Maybe I have rose colored glasses on, but the “concerns” are overblown. He’s a great player.

As a 3rd line player, he will end up playing against the opposing teams better lines more often then not, requiring him and his line mates (who are not great defenders) to play defense.

Not sure if this is ever discussed or debated or what not but..kind of a radical thought..they should send all 3 of Laf Kakko and Barron have them play together every night in every facet. Build chemistry become what would hopefully become at worst a 3rd line. None of this a knock on Barron, all of it directed at the other two prized possessions. They are just not doing enough and need either a wake up call, or confidence boost via some production. Most uneventful shifts by 1-2 picks I’ve ever seen. Cmon let’s goooo. Maybe getting them out of the spotlight where they can just play and build chemistry. Have them come up for rd 1 of the playoffs poised and ready to contribute.

Thank god Laf scored on that shootout. Never would’ve heard the end of it lol

Im not at all against this, however, they seem to have this issue with playing Barron regardless of how much better he looks on the ice.

You will be disappointed when you see what those players will end up costing.
That Chychrun trade was extremely bad

A win is a win is a win against a hard to play against kings team. found a way t rally and exert pressure in the third. Laf with a huge shootout goal after being invisible pretty much all the game and the #1 point to the LA bench after Byfield had scored in the shootout as well.
