yup, that's pretty (frank)ing dumb. could they give at least an explanation as to why they determined it was a normal "hockey play"..?

it could be that the rule was applied in a way that others might not have interpreted or understood, so yes. and even if you disagree with the decision, I think providing an explanation is a normal process, and shows how the league is applying the rules (or not applying them correctly lol).

is there a game in MTL on Thursday? I thought the league didn't want teams to play with empty stands...
