Get over yourself. Pittsburgh is not Bettmans pet project.

There are no reasons that they are still contenders cause they aren't. Thanks!

Bobby Clarke still taking shots at him. (frank)ing embarrassing.

Clarke has an opinion and was in the room more than us. Whatever. Hextall is the type of GM who is controlling and takes it slowly. Doesn't seem like the kind of guy who throws around draft picks willy nilly.

The Flyers market isn't a patient one. That's not a good mix.

OH HEY LOOK! The Penguins have a 1st round pick this draft. I bet Hexy holds onto it. Lots of people will overpay at the trade deadline and I bet GMRH won't let go of that pick. It'll be hard to let go of the 2nd rounder with no 3rd rounder.

PS-Hexy does seem to pay alot for moving up in the draft. At least twice he did.

The Penguins. When Sid is gone they’ll go back to being the bankrupt franchise before Mario and before the Penguins “won” the 2005 Crosby draft lottery. No doubt, Bettman will help them out again

Goaltending is still iffy.

Their depth is not what it was.

Contenders, yes. Serious contenders?......probably not.

Um... have you paid any attention to the team that was winning without Sid or Geno in the lineup? Bad take there, my man.

The level of Pens hate in this thread is so high it can only mean one thing; you all think Allen is right.

I see the Bruins and the Pens in a very similar situation. The core is just about done and no matter what there is going to be a dark period(Because of horrendous drafting in Boston's case). Both teams should be pushing all the chips in try to maximize what they can do in the now.
