Tafoli said that when Muzzin went down (pronounced dead) they thought they had the series
- Canada Cup

Sure, which was after the Leafs had already had the devastating loss of Tavares. With Muzzin hurt, the Leafs were positively cooked.

Oh boy, not sure about that. Lots of Hab fans down my way were thinking" Maybe we're not that far off" after their run.
- Leafsmart

Nonense.

Any Habs fan thinking they were anything more than a borderline playoffs team after losing Weber and Price was delusionnal.

It turned out being far worse after seeing the state of the rest of the team.

And yet Tavares didn't play and the Habs barely survived the 1st round.

Injuries happen.

You either deal with it or you don't.

"what ifs" scenarios are pointless.

I don't see how that part would have been any different.

Montreal projected to get 86 points last year over 82 games, historically poor record to make the playoffs. Their descent into the NHL sewers is not a surprise. What is a surprise is how low they have sunk. They will be mathematically eliminated from the post season within a couple of weeks. Hab fans can start thinking of golf with ski season in full swing.

Agreed.

But hey, a SCF run followed by a top 5 pick.

What a time to be alive.

Why would you wish that Wedgie? He's obviously a toolbag, envy of such an uninformed person is a waste of your time. As first hand witnesses of the Holocaust are mostly long gone, very few remain with knowledgeable accounts of what it was like. Comparisons are usually very shallow and without substance.

I was joking, Winsie.

I was saying he was incredibly rich and privileged, and also incredibly stupid.

Guess I'm not feeling your enthusiasm. But, surely any add would be a notch above what Timmins could do.

So glad he's gone.

Still waiting to see who replaces him under Gorton/Hughes.

I would say top three, as much as it will pain many here, Shane Wright playing for the Habs as opposed to poopbag franchises like Arizona, Buffalo or Ottawa would be much better for a player that has obviously put lots of time and effort into becoming excellent.

At least Arizona is hot.

Although it's too hot now in the summer.

Of course you were Wedgie, well aware. I'm one of the few lucky ones to have second hand involvement.

Keep telling yourself that.

Injuries to core players are catastrophic. You just mentioned how devastating it was to the Habs this year to lose Price and Weber.

Still curious about Power - hasn't signed yet, when was the last time a 1st overall didn't sign for this length of time? Would look pretty good on the Leaf's blueline - Just Sayin.

I think Ottawa actually wouldn't be too bad for Wright. There's some pretty great young players on that team (Batherson, Tkachuk, Norris, Stützle, Chabot).

From a financial and exposure standpoint, playing for OTT would suck donkeyballs though.

There are teams with substantial talent, that are simply run by incompetent owners. Ottawa, Buffalo, NJ and Edmonton come to mind. It's a curse for any top player to be drafted by one of those teams.

I did.

But I also didn't say something like "if they were here, we'd lead the Atlantic!"

Would they help? Of course.

Would they change all that much? Who knows?

Well he can't sign until his NCAA season is over.

If he still doesn't afterwards.... that would be something.

Think BUF has his rights for another 3 years, no? (NCAA graduation) Long time to wait and I can't see them trading him to TML. He looks something special though!

Is there a significant financial advantage to him signing a 3 yr entry level deal with Buffalo as opposed to sitting out until he graduates from college?
