I know the move absolutely sucked...but I think if the guy didn't (frank) up his back he would have been a good contributor for us.

The real question is why did Boston give him a long term deal after a serious back injury?

His cap hit is $9M. Yeah, I know it's easier to squeeze in at the TDL, but our money could be better spent.

And what the hell are you going to have to give up for him? Bracco, Frattin and an 8th? Anything more and it's a waste of futures - which we are already desperately short of.

I liked foligno, but Dubas really overpaid for him.
He was pretty good his first several games with the leafs until he got injured.

Maybe if they move out holl and find some other cap space, it could open the door to a 2-3 year deal. But are we comfortable with that? Dunno.

I still dont believe much will occur this deadline for the leafs.
I think they get a depth dman for the 6th spot, thats about it.

I liked the move at the time it was made. I was wrong, it was a terrible move. He was a pile of poop in the playoffs. Leafs paid for filet mignon and got stale gas station pogo sticks. No excuses, bad move, giving up futures for a bag of rocks.

Yeesh. He was decent 4-5 years ago in Vegas. He's been awful as a Sabre. This year in particular he's not even hitting anymore.

The guy was a throw-in for the Lucic deal, exposed in the expansion draft and traded to Buffalo for a 5th & a 2nd, and he's done nothing but play worse, and now he's worth more?

The only time garbage appreciates in value is when it's real estate. Or cryptocurrency.

He is way down the list, I'd imagine he is way down the list for every other team as well.
