it's a nice thought.. I would love Subban on the Leafs, even now at his age.

Here it is:

Kevin Papetti
@KPapetti

I still think there's a decent chance that P.K. Subban pulls a Jason Spezza this offseason and signs with the Leafs for around the league minimum

I'm just wondering if he's actually someone, or just a chump.

Doesn't Tanner write for one of those sites?

he doesn't have the worst stat line I've seen for a d-man playing on a bad team

no clue what his actual play looks like these days though

He's ok, would proably be a low cost option. Another might be Chara. Chara is not a scorer, he's slow, but he can still punch and cross-check with the best of them.

So keep in mind I haven't seen him play this year, but I always find TOI stats telling for defencemen.

Looks like he's 3rd pairing at even strength, and 2nd pairing on both PP and PK.

That doesn't sound too shabby.

No way in hell I'd give up anything to trade for him this year, but I'm happy to have him drive in next year on the Spezza bus.

I think he would do well paired with someone like Muzzin...

Tanner writes for Editor in Leaf. Hot Stove isn’t bad. It’s not known as a roomer site like here though

Depends what else is out there.

I'd say its an option, not first in line but its something I think will be discussed.

Brodie

Not a PK fan because if he isn't on the PP for 5 minutes a night it's proven he's just an adequate player instead of a "top flight" guy...but he's not done at 32 from being a good defender and unless he's really looking to squander some money, he's not signing for min or below 3.5mil at the very least anywhere.

His cap hit is $9M. Yeah, I know it's easier to squeeze in at the TDL, but our money could be better spent.

And what the hell are you going to have to give up for him? Bracco, Frattin and an 8th? Anything more and it's a waste of futures - which we are already desperately short of.

Kevin Papetti says you are wrong, and apparently Tanner doesn't write for the same site as Papetti, so you are actually wrongerer.
