What is the Leafs prospect pool looking like? I’m willing to bet they aren’t willing to give the Flyers anything that can fix this message or help fix it. The Flyers cannot miss if they’re gonna trade Giroux. - SuperSchennBros
Not sure about Prospect pool but I would expect a 1st, Prospect and likely Kerfoot as a return.

Glad he "trashed" them as 3 are trash and 1 time will tell. Tell it like it is McMahon. - hello it's me 2050
I am fine with you having that POV and sharing it. It has about as much foundation as my "give them more time" POV. But a "senior advisor" like Clarkie saying that is awful. He is an embarrassment to the organization or, as he likes to say, the "Flyer family." |

Do they have any players in their organization that Cliff drafted? I would start my trade list there if I were the Leafs. Cliff is like Howie Roseman, he loves the guys he picks even when it is clear that they can't play. |

Not that it makes things any better but the current 11 game slide is a winless streak and not a losing streak due to the OTL\SOL according to Pierre LeBrun.
Flyers record for losing streak is at 9 games, winless streak is 12 games |

Elliotte Friedman reported in 32 Thoughts that couple sources have told him that the Maple Leafs have made an offer for Claude Giroux - xShoot4WarAmpsx
I thought Friedman giving Bill a shout out on his podcast was pretty cool.
EDIT: they discussed Colorado and Giroux on the pod. |

That is rough. Can we bring Ollie L back over or is that loan for the whole season? |

I guess those roids the Russians were feeding him made him brittle.

Such an embarrassment. Just down right horrific thing to say. He should be canceled.
Calling it like it is just isn't what it used to be.

real story you forget to add is he just is not good enough. He hasn't done squat when in the lineup less one stretch years ago. Which looks like an anomaly.
It is more than a coincidence at this point so many prospects/players players injured year after year.

He made an instant impact in the Q and then got concussion. Made an instant impact in the AHL and then had a serious shoulder injury. Was just starting to settle in the next year, hurt the shoulder again. Played very tentatively after coming back. When he came back to the AHL this year from a lost season in the KHL ("sore" wrist that turned out to be fractured), he had a stretch of 3-4 games where he seemed to be getting on track... and then got injured again and missed several weeks.
In short, we'll probably never know what he could have become because he's never stayed healthy enough to develop. |

Watching him in the Q as a 19 year old he did not stand out much at all. That was a disappointing pick from the get go. |

Bottom line right now is he is a bust. Lost season in KHL, when did he get hurt (early or late?? did he have any good stretch of games at all there?)
Are all these injuries with young players a coincidence? |

Borrowed from elsewhere:
Elliotte Friedman just said on 32 thoughts podcast that Yandle came here because the Flyers told him ‘we’re going to get you there’ regarding the iron man streak and that he had a lot of options. You may recall that both said to assembled press that it was not a factor and Yandle claimed he was never promised anything. |

I never doubted this. It just had to play out that way particularly with him signing when he did.

Is his contract up? Or, are you just predicting that we won't have any more appetite in light of his injuries? |

correct as only a fool would believe they didn't have a deal. Of course they did.

For all the folks who say tanking doesn’t work, the Penguins are a great example of it working. What did they pick #1 #1 #2 and get fleury Crosby and Malkin. Not sure of the exact order but you get it. - ClaudeFather
They could have had Towes too instead of Staal if I'm not mistaken.
I will say this. The flip side of tanking is Edmonton. Gotta be able to nail those high end picks. |

they did fine with the picks. It was the team building part they hosed up on. Never built a winner.

I don't know what the deal is with all the injuries.
Rubtsov apparently played through the wrist issue for 3/4 of the season. Bottom line is that he hasn't developed as hoped. We don't know if he would have if not for all the injuries (which weren't minor).

I'm expecting Yandle to get a thunderous 2 minute standing ovation for tying the record tonight. The fans will acknowledge what a tremendous accomplishment this is. |
