Heard it from a guy who posts NHL news frequently. It is supposed to be here
https://podcast.sportsnet.ca/32-thoughts/
I listened to it stating from the Yandle talk and I didnt hear anything about Flyers and the Leafs. They spoke about Flyers and Colorado

Sounds like he might be nicked up. - iamscore2day
No idea. Another one who is "always" hurt. Seems to be more than a pattern at this point.
Either way he is a total bust at this point.

How do you define classless; purposely and obviously tanking to draft Lemieux? Bankrupt organization should be moved to another city, yet magically comes up with the $ to stay put? Gifted the #1 and #2 overall picks in back to back seasons, one of which was a lockout year? Fair weather fans that only show up when the team is good? - aantny88
The tanking for LeMieux was not good. To be fair, the NJD were angry because they also tanked but missed a coin toss by one game. As for #1 and 2 picks, does the NHL's recent gifting of numerous high picks to the Rags bother you? The Pens fans may be fair weather to you but the team had like a 15 year run of home sellouts. Still, I can't think of a "senior advisor" from a team who publicly trashes a group of 20-somethings, one of whom had serious injury problems, to defend his own decision-making. That is the definition of classless. |

For all the folks who say tanking doesn’t work, the Penguins are a great example of it working. What did they pick #1 #1 #2 and get fleury Crosby and Malkin. Not sure of the exact order but you get it. - ClaudeFather
They got lucky though. They happened to suck when generational talent was available.
If the Flyers tanked in 2018-2020. They would have Jack Hughes, Lafreniere and Dhalin. Good players, but not Crosby, Malkin and Fleury level

JOB hasn't shown a damn thing as a pro. No way should he be in the nhl to start next year. Now if he signs and plays a dozen games in the AHL and stands out. Then maybe
Ratcliff looks like a total bust. Hasnt shown NHL ability imo - hello it's me 2050
you spelled ahl wrong.

What is the Leafs prospect pool looking like? I’m willing to bet they aren’t willing to give the Flyers anything that can fix this message or help fix it. The Flyers cannot miss if they’re gonna trade Giroux. |

Well said. Clarke trashing Hextall for picking Patrick is hilarious when you look at Bobby's drafting record. He didn't even want Giroux in 2006, he wanted Trevor Lewis. - Feanor
With the story behind that pick, you'd think Clarke would be thanking Hextall. |

They could have had Towes too instead of Staal if I'm not mistaken.
I will say this. The flip side of tanking is Edmonton. Gotta be able to nail those high end picks. |

Now let's talk about the 15 year Edmonton tank... how has that worked out for them? |

but he listened to his scouts, and picked who they wanted. Its not his job to scout, his job was over seeing the scouts. And clarke admits he has made a ton of mistakes. He will be the first to say when he screws up. Not sure what this has to do with clarkes drafting record but whatevz

That’s not a matter of nailing high end picks, that’s totally mismanagement of an organization. For the most part they actually did nail the picks. |

I actually highly dislike the league's "lottery", Pens/Rags/Oilers, whomever it is. The Flyers have only ever had 1 first overall pick and they traded to get it! Sorry but Clarke pointing out that Hextall didn't agree with his scouts and took Nolan Patrick isn't a public trashing.

Maybe we can sign Lukko's son and play him, too. I did not realize that Chuckles drafted this guy 10 years ago. Wow, I look forward to seeing how right Chuckles really was back then .... - iamscore2day
was it hextall that drafted lukko's son? i remember lukko explicitly saying not to draft him |

Well, there is at least one other person on this board who agrees with you on how to interpret Clarkie's rant. Many others do not on this board and elsewhere.

Glad he "trashed" them as 3 are trash and 1 time will tell. Tell it like it is McMahon.
