would never try to say tanking/luck didnt have a lot to do with it, but in fairness the draft equity needed/used isnt even close to edmontons at this point. Crosby was a 1, malkin was a 2, fleury was a 1 but was traded up for. Letang was a third round pick the year of crosby. they dont really have a ton of other high picks generated from the suckage window. most were either traded and they really couldnt hit in the mid/late first round to save their lives. Would make the flyers look like prodigies.

It’d be terrible. Best player in the game and they can’t do more than win one round of playoff over an extended period of time. Not getting a goaltender over and over is beyond stupid. Even after chiarelli they still could have gotten a better option than smith. Mind boggling

Outside of Philly, there’s a lot of respect for hart as an up and coming young tender. We d got a lot of problems but hart isn’t one of them. Let him grow and (frank)ing build a team around him. God.

As a side note, while I liked brodeur, I never liked that he was crowned as having the most wins ever by a goalie once the shoot out was introduced. So many of those wins came because of the fact that there were no ties. Needs to be put in context although he was great and had great stats.
