Yes, but you are less likely to get it and therefore less likely to spread it if vaccinated. You are not immune, just better protected. And a lot less likely to be hospitalized and / or die.
A virus, by definition, mutates as it spread throughout a body. and while most of those mutations die off before they can be harmful, there are some mutations that develop into variants of serious problems (ie: Delta, Omicron).
So the more people vaxed, there is a less chance of catching, less spreading, and less chance of more variants.
That is why, while I believe people need to get the 3rd dose, I think it is more important we look to help countries that do not have the infrastructure, expertise and resources get as many of their people vaccinated first... not only to save lives, but the spread of new variants. At the end of the day, we protect ourselves as much as them by doing that.
