back in the day he actually came to philly to do a show and stayed in his hotel room watching a basketball game instead of go to the venue.

the biggest DJ on the biggest rock station in the city didn't play guns n roses for like 10 years after that.

there was a huge riot in MTL because of Guns and Roses... Metallica was also playing, but James Hetfield was burnt by pyrotechnics during the show, so they had to stop and Guns had to play sooner. it took them almost 3 hours to get ready, and then they only played 9 songs, giving a really poor performance. fans weren't happy lol

james hetfield burnt me up once too.

someone asked me if i wanted to go see metallica up in north jersey. i figured it'd be okay and i went but it turned out to be a festival and i baked in the sun for hours while bands i never heard of played. metallica didn't even come on until it was dark out.

probably the worst sunburn of my long, illustrious life. i don't even really like metalllica that much.

so that's why you hate summer so much...

but yeah with these outdoor festivals (or basically any show for that matter) the biggest names will usually play last.

I remember going to see the Cult in 1987-ish, at the Verdybn Auditorium... Guns and Roses opened the show and were a train wreck and basically boo'd off the stage.

The Cult rocked that night tho.

when they finally got out there, james grabbed the mic and said "Gimme an M! Gimme an E! Gimme a T! GIMME FUEL, GIMME FIRE, GIMME THAT WHICH I DESIRE, OOH!" and a ton of flames shot out of the stage all around him and i though "this dude'll never learn" lol

That album only took 21 years and probably more than 21 band members coming and going. He seems like a good guy to work with/for.

I remember reading about that show... So glad I never saw them live... Friend told me they went on for a short set sometime after midnight... Ugh.

One of my fave shows though? Volbeat, Lamb of God, and Metallica. So damn good, front to back.

load and reload seemed like trash to me.

i always figured there are 2 kinds of metallica fans, the metalheads and the black album fans. i never imagined there were fans of all the other stuff but i guess there are.

Thing is, St Anger really wasn't. It was longer, and less radio friendly. I respected that. Load was the antithesis of that.

The Black album was my intro to Metallica... If it wasn't for that album, dunno where I'd be musically, to be quite honest.

My body is now an incubation of the Neapolitan vaccination experience.

AZ, Pfizer, and Moderna.

I expect to evolve into some sort of super hero (or villain, depending on the effects) at any moment now.

hammett doing a medley of their solos at woodstock 94 (i guess that's what it was) was pretty cool. he just walked around looking into the crowd playing solos.

it was the last really good album in the band's timeline imho, although I thought Death Magnetic wasn't so turrible.

It's funny, you can literally hear the Hetfield love in the latest Volbeat album. (Very good, btw... Mixture of all kinds of styles, from rockabilly to Danzig)

A dependable if not outstanding RFA? I'm not surprised, to be honest. Lehk has always been Lehk. Biggest prize? Nope. But great asset to have on the bottom 6? Absolutely.
