Yeah, how does that work if we don't qualify him? Free agent? - canucksfan1944
Yes, it hard to envision a scenario where Boeser is back |

Pretty much, yes. Which is why trading him is the best solution. - Reubenkincade
Yup. |

He COULD take a reduce AAV for longer term if he wanted? I'm sure his agent will be saying no to that though with 7+ on the table otherwise
Maybe he would be seen as a rental? |

I', also worried about our prospects pool haha i was looking through the last few years....unless in the NHL, there is no immediate talent pushing at the door. Pretty minimal. I just don't the Canucks to suck for another 10 years. |

Rutherford has some tough decisions to make, while cleaning up the mess of this organization. |

For anyone about to cry about it being a woke agenda hire, Emilie Castonguay has a law and finance degree and is currently about to finish her masters.
Going from Weisbrod to Emilie is a fantastic change of scenery and positive move for the club. |

Looks like we lost, oh well…tough going with key pieces missing.
Did you guys see that Bills vs KC football game? One of the best in memory, unbelievably good |

Definitely not getting 7.5m with term. He signs say 5/6m or is moved. This I’m pretty sure of cuz JR isn’t beholden to him nor a fool. |

No way buffalo touches that trade. I think people will be shocked at how low the return will be when Brock is traded. His contract is a huge problem - CanuckDon
It's always the same through fans eyes... player not good enough for your team but some other team is going to pay a big ransom for him.

His agent will want the most money possible. A 1 year 7m deal vs a 6 Year 36m deal. I bet they do the 6 year deal. Especially looking at RNH and others signing 7 years at 5m aav. Comparables matter. |

Look at teams that pay big for success…
Whether before winning a cup or after. Hawks & Kings paid post cup wins & makes sense. Others dream of the same success but also recognize elite talent & pay. For us we don’t have the 9-12m contracts but we have Hughes & Petey at the top of the Canucks pay scale. Hughes is playing like he earned it & got term. Has Petey? He didn’t get term & it’s a good thing at that. Boeser got a reasonable deal but his next one will be interesting to say the least. As much as ppl have varying opinions on Miller he does provide value & has excelled every year here. So JR has some big decisions coming soon or sooner or later on who the core will be.
Demko & Hughes are no brainers. Bo for all he does is a keeper. Garland is locked up & provided very good value so he stays. OEL is here to stay like it or not. Myers has been his case he stays. Petey has a window to get his act together but how long is what I’m asking? |

This I believe is the case. Boeser gets term & less than his QO. |

Amazing finish. My wife and I don't watch football often but decided to follow the playoffs this year to honour
her Dad and her Brother in law. Who both passed last year and watched religiously. Just to add to the fun we made picks, my Wife had a perfect weekend. I did not.... |

Brock takes too long to shoot. You could load an 18th century cannon faster.
He surprised some with his shot early, but now that teams know to close the gap and he has no moves ... it's a deflection outta play more times than not ... unfortunately |

Off the rush with a playmaker to feed him is best. On the PP he’s far too stationary. Miller & Hughes & Bo are fine on the PP. Petey & Boeser are better for PP2. |

What I like about Rutherford is that he clearly does do some digging, everyone just assumed Jen Botterill would be hired by the Canucks due to her brother's connection with JR and JR talking about wanting a more diverse staff.
Instead he hires Rachael Doerrie who publicly ripped Benning to join the analytics team and now hires Castonguay as AGM for contracts and cap. Two moves no one predicted but seem to be good hires on the surface level. |
