He claimed to be a healthcare provider.

He also stated that he didn’t need to know the medical history of his patients to assess and prescribe a treatment. He was just that good.

He was definitely a “special” kind of person.

I met Dragon once, that dude was seriously whacked, we went for a drink and all he talked about was in order: How jacked he was, how much he lifts, all the wussy he's gotten, what 'girl' (jailbait included) he was going to (frank) tonight and finally how much the Canucks sucked. I lasted 30 minutes before I left and that was 30 minutes too long.

I met Retinalz too, but he at least is normal.

The idea of meeting someone you know nothing about from an anonymous hockey board in person just seems so strange to me

I guess it depends on the context. I just imagine it could be extremely awkward if you haven't got any common ground other than following the Canucks.

everyone is guilty of saying things that are considered offensive these days.

The guilt I had, remembering all the times I playfully called my brother a "fag" when we were growing up, after he came out and told me he was gay was awful. We all called our friends "retards" or "retarded" growing up. All these offensive words now were meaningless back then, or so we thought.

I think the biggest thing I have learned over the years, is that while everyone doesn't like PC culture, or snowflake culture or whatever it is called, I just think its super super easy to just find other words that don't offend people. Our vocabulary is so vast, and if 1 word is troubling to someone, than it isn't hard to find something else to use just to avoid upsetting them.

I had the exact same experience with my brother. I remember crying as I was overwhelmed with shame/guilt for hurting him so much with my ignorance.

It's easy to call people snowflakes coming from a place of privilege where you never have to deal the greater population demeaning you, demanding you have no rights just for being who you are. I will generalize....people disgust me. Despite my rather brash messages on here (its for show), I very much will die on any hill that I need to that allows every person the same rights and treatment as anyone else.

Some of our old crew just met for a photo at Yonge and Isabella, the famous corner where the punk scene hung around across from what used to be a club called Dominos. The little parkette beside House Of Lords. I don't even recognize it. Looks so yuppy now. It was a hippy hang out before the time of punks and skins.

After that they went to a roof top we used to party on to find where about 30 of us had scratched our names on red bricks in the mid 80's. More than a dozen of those names are of friends who have died. Some of disease, some killed by police, some murdered... and drugs, almost half from suicide. What a collection of troubled souls...

Vancouver Canucks president of hockey operations Jim Rutherford on J.T. Miller trade rumors: “He is our best forward, I really like him. Teams will call but when we have more voices (GM and AGM) we can make those decisions.”

Interesting I've read here that there is no way, absolutely no way, either Miller or Horvat re-sign with the Canucks.

People on here have been talking about trades that JR is going to make. I keep reminding them that there will be a GM soon and it won't be JR making the trade. It's almost like people have this idea that he is going to be the GM by proxy. He's only one voice once these hirings are complete.

On the other hand... if he builds a management group of people who are rookies at their positions, maybe that's his plan after all... a page out of FA's book.

Personally I like the process that Rutherford has implemented so far, I like the fact he stated that he will take his time, interview multiple people and choose a diverse selection of people that will have individual voices but at the same time compliment each other.
There has been a mix of experienced individuals as well as qualified individuals that will learn the ins and outs of running a hockey club. Yesterdays hire was precisely that, someone qualified in finance as well as law to learn the process of negotiation from the clubs perspective not the players.

I can't remember the last time I have been excited about the direction the team is taking...not talking about coaching, but I actually feel there is a vision with competent people running the club, when was the last, Gillis with his sleep psychiatrist...I think not, if fact I'm having a hard time remembering when...Griffiths...
