i wasn't around when Dragon said it, or I wasn't paying attention. I had thought Neem had said it and everyone got on his case about it, but I can't remember what I had for breakfast yesterday either so what do i know. - Codes1087

everyone is guilty of saying things that are considered offensive these days.
The guilt I had, remembering all the times I playfully called my brother a "fag" when we were growing up, after he came out and told me he was gay was awful. We all called our friends "retards" or "retarded" growing up. All these offensive words now were meaningless back then, or so we thought.
I think the biggest thing I have learned over the years, is that while everyone doesn't like PC culture, or snowflake culture or whatever it is called, I just think its super super easy to just find other words that don't offend people. Our vocabulary is so vast, and if 1 word is troubling to someone, than it isn't hard to find something else to use just to avoid upsetting them.

For my father “retard” was a term of endearment. |

My best friend was Jewish through my teens. When we'd fight I'd give it to him about being so cheap... which he was... but that was terrible to connect the two. He lives in NYC now and came all the way to the Cariboo to visit me a couple of years ago and I apologized for it. He laughed at me... of all the things he'd been called over being Jewish in his life, he said that was almost comical. It didn't make me feel any less guilty but point is, people say regrettable things without a thought at times.
One thing that used to get him violent was being called a nazi because he was a skinhead for a few years. (frank)ing ignorant people.

My grandfather on my fathers side was Archie Bunker extreme. I would bike down to the Brador Lakes in Cape Breton and catch some sea perch and bring them back and he'd throw them out on the lawn and say "only n*****s eat those". I'm surprised many of us didn't grow up to be Hilters.

I met Dragon once, that dude was seriously whacked, we went for a drink and all he talked about was in order: How jacked he was, how much he lifts, all the wussy he's gotten, what 'girl' (jailbait included) he was going to (frank) tonight and finally how much the Canucks sucked. I lasted 30 minutes before I left and that was 30 minutes too long.
I met Retinalz too, but he at least is normal. |

Dragon's common term for woman was "Broads". I know exactly who the lynch mob was too.
You are barking up the wrong tree about my memory. People sometime despise my elephant like memory.

So weird, complete 180 from his HB posts. I suppose if you had stayed another 15 min he would have mentioned what a good coach he was, and how his systems would have the team clicking in no time. |
