Drury wants a big team so makes sense. Their fans are kinda dumb, they act like it’s the same JT Miller that they traded away with some of the poop offers they throw around
- Nucker101

They are soft and Sammy Blais was there toughness but he's done for the year.

Trading either one is a step back IMO but should pay dividends in the future. Maybe Bo may want to explore the UFA market . Would not be the first Canuck to want to play for a winning team .

I am sure Rutherford and company will make the right choice on who gets shipped out.
I won't be surprised to see Motte and/or Highmore get moved. Perfect role guys for the playoffs.

Bunch of butthurt old dudes in here eh
- NewYorkNuck

Hey STFU, not all “old dudes” are butt hurt. What they other guys are doing is arguing semantics. JR had a process, he followed that process, he made himself media available and kept the public informed without giving up internal information.

Does it really matter if the GM position and AGM positions were done concurrently, no, does it really matter if the person hired happens to be a woman and there might/could be other women or men with other qualifications…no.

Take this “old dude” shit and shove it, stop (frank)ing generalizing that one older guy or two older guys question semantics…stupid (frank)ing young wet behind the ears know nothing, self entitled millennials.

Not necessarily, it would depend on the return.

In my mind, 2 or 4 should be traded: Miller, Boeser, Pouty or Horvat. In that order.

- Marwood

Miller, Hamonic, Poolman, Motte. Hopefully soon so Canucks can move down the standings before they move up.

Highmore and Chiasson if someone was offering a 4th or 5th round pick for either.

Kakko / Schnider
- carsonagenic

Every ACGM in CF I do the Rags fans pile on saying Schneider is untouchable. Homers are insufferable thinking their 1st is very significant.

The Canucks could get a nice mix of young player/prospects/picks.
Wouldn't it be a change to see the Canucks active at or before the TDL?

- Marwood

Then JR will be a happy change for you. He luvs making moves.

I'd be worried if the GM immediately trades young players who have had down time. Boeser on the other hand is a different situation with his huge qualifying offer coming at the end of a bridge deal.
- boonerbuck

They could fit everyone in if they wanted. The thing I/we don't know is the players plans with the club. Lordy pointed out a possibility today maybe some players want out. Also what does management think about certain players?

I know hits are not counted equally in all arenas, but they are top 5 in hits per game. Not sure if they're considered soft by 2022 NHL standards. Trouba is one of the best hitters in hockey. They got a powerforward in Kreider. Reaves doesnt play much, but hes one of the best fighters.

But Drury probably wants another powerforwwrd type like JTM

I'm cool with dealing Brock. Good guy, but just not worth that type of money.
- Nucker101

I believe Brock is the odd-man out, but finding a suitor might be an issue.
I don't expect a strong playoff team to make a push for him, but I could see a team like Detroit or Anaheim making a pitch for him.

For years I said we need snipers but in Brocks case he needs a playmaker to feed off. That has been Miller. Petey simply meshed well with Miller driving play. After Miller we don’t have playmakers other than Hughes. So BB is a trade asset if JR goes that route.

Dirty past aside, look at Bowman's moves in Chicago. Pretty mediocre overall.

https://ontapsportsnet.co...y-stan-bowman-since-2015/

And that Seth Jones trade, yikes

- Nucker101

I hear you but the conversation was about AGM. They don't pull the triggers on trades. Like I said, I don't think JR or any president would aim for that level of experience. Probably a power struggle would develop between Pres/AGM/GM.

Motte has value & could move but he comes cheap. Idk what he wants on his next deal so he could probably be dealt. Highmore not much value imo.

I know they are only 4th line guys, but I would want at least one of them here for next season. This team has had a heck of a time filling out that line.

Bottom 6 C’s have to produce better. Wingers can feed off that. Until then secondary scoring suffers.

I'd keep Motte as long as he isn't looking for a D1ickinson type deal, Highmore has been pretty decent lately. Lammiko to me is the easiest to replace, not very noticeable most nights and it's quite easy to find a guy like him in the AHL who just plays positional hockey without getting too involved in the play

I hear this every year, yet the team has a hard time filling that role.
It is not just this team, it is on most teams.

My thoughts exactly.
We don’t have a lot of C depth with the Jr Nux to call up.
That whole 4th line (motte-lammiko-Highmore) has been playing good.
Just shouldn’t be playing 2nd line mins obviously.

Id like to see Lockwood replace one of the wingers next year.

I know several want to see Lockwood play, but that is another small player.to go along with Hoglander, Garland, Petterson, Motte and Hughes.
Yes I am aware a couple of these guys play physical, but some size needs to start being put in the lineup.

The Broads cast.... are we not trying to get rid of this kind of language? I remember the lynch mob after Dragon when he used that term. Crazy times.
