I don't see why Rutherford isn't after Stan Bowman then. He's probably the best most qualified out there.

Thankfully he isn’t after Bowman

Rutherford has dirt on his hand as well when it comes to that kind of controversy.

When I mention I would like to see experience in the front office, it doesn't mean I want to see every single person hired having experience.
I am happy with how Rutherford is setting up his management group and am also happy he is taking his time assessing the players in the organization.
I will not be shocked if he names Allvin or Weekes as GM, nor will I be surprised if he names another female to the staff, in the scouting department.

All the new hires have more experience than the Sedins.

I couldn't remember if he was in Arizona before or after Nike. My brother worked with him at Nike, said he was a bit of a geek but really smart.
- Marwood

There was a year between Arizona and Vancouver. Most likely the time he was there.

Usually geek's are really smart.

Yeah probably for forever.

Some in here though, they only want people with previous experience. Personally, I'd take a few up and comers vs the skeletons in some of these guys closets.

- manvanfan

I want a mix of veteran leaders and good young fresh hockey minds forming the management group. If they do hire Allvin as GM, who is to say they won't hire another name with experience as well.

The only difference is that it is being led by a president with decades of experience.

Is that a thumbs up for the old boys club?

I like him but he had his faults at the end also. I think Minivan had some interesting comparisons to him and Canuck failures a few weeks back.

Dhali said 5 interviews were conducted and a decision soon.

Mellanby (who I mentioned two years ago as a possibility for the job) I'm not sure I want him on the list anymore.
Allvin
Burke

Who are the other two? Do we know?

Gillman proved to be the best of the bunch in that management group. I would welcome him back as AGM right now. He's working for the Leafs though.

Also previous experience usually means hiring ppl who failed or were fired.

Is the LGBTQ community represented in the new management group? how about Vegans?

I can't say I paid much attention to management until the years of Gillis and blame fell on him only.

Nope. We'll know for sure when the new GM is hired, if he's going old boys. So far he's been doing exactly what he said he was going to do. I, also like that he hasn't been rushing the hires considering he's nearly 2 months into his tenure. I hope they get Allvin or McFarland for GM and I like the idea of having a collection of voices, some old school and some outside the box.

I'm really looking forward to the first trade for all of us to "discuss".

I'll be suspicious if JR hires a gay brown midget in a wheelchair... but only if they have less experience than Linden had....

Any one hiring would not cause questioning. Hiring three in one month sounds like an agenda.
- VANTEL

This comes off to me as problematic. If they hired 3 men in a month is it an agenda?

Best part is the reactions to the trades/signings/drafting will most likely be the exact same as always.

That AGM from Washington sounded promising. I’m hoping it’s him. Maybe another player agent with GM aspirations?
