I'm surprised he was good last night, including tackling Hill on that return. - kingcong39
haack was anything but a hack in this game...he dropped two inside the 20 including one that put the chiefs back at the 2 (the other was the 12, i believe)...he had that TD-saving tackle too |

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports the Giants are conducting a second interview with Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll for the team's head coaching vacancy.
It's looking more and more like the Giants -- with former Buffalo executive Joe Schoen in place as GM -- are leaning toward Daboll as the team's next head coach. Daboll's offense put on another majestic display Sunday night in Buffalo's Divisional Round loss to the Chiefs. The Giants hiring Daboll would be a boon for Daniel Jones, Saquon Barkley, Kadarius Toney, and the rest of the team's skill position players. Moving from play-caller Jason Garrett to Daboll would represent the team's entrance into 21st century offensive football. |

be as smart move getting out of the afc with the group of qb's that conference has...had his best success with brady (5 superbowls) and allen...
he worked with brady quinn and derek anderson in cle in 2009 then with colt mccoy, jake delhomme and seneca wallace in 2010...both offenses ranked 32nd
was in miami in 2011, 20th ranked offense with
in 2012 had one of the worst offenses in football with quinn and matt cassell at qb on a 2-14 team |

I think he’s one of the best OC in the league. Uses Allen extremely well |

not saying he's a bad oc, because i think he's done a lot of good things, but it sure seems like he had the good fortune of riding a couple of pretty good qb's to success |

I think is is extremely accurate. We may nitpick play calling here and there but the numbers speak for themselves. He helped to raise a young qb and he did that while building a top offense. The vast majority of coaches fail at both.

those are the top-5 qb's in the afc...daboll and frazier (if it happens) should get the hell out of the conference |

One of my favorites was something that Barnwell wrote (he linked it in a recent article). Over the first couple of years Allen's numbers were almost identicals to Tyrod's numbers. People that are mediocre college qbs never, ever are good in the pros. The guy is a unicorn.

I believe that he was as instrumental as anybody in Josh Allen's development. He's made some frustrating play calls, as does any coach, but overall, largely because of Allen, his playcalling has got this team to win far more games than its lost.
That being said, assuming he gets the Giants job, he's not the only good playcaller out there. Beane and McDermott needs to find the next guy, and I believe they can. |
