Alot of coaches have been fired for less whether you think it stupid or not. McDermott and Frazier failed to adjust the defense at any point this game. Arguably the biggest game of their coaching career.

Agreed. McDermott (frank)ed up at the end, but he's not losing his job. He's made the playoffs 4 out of 5 years, and in football that's hard to do (and no, before one of you twats puts words in my mouth, just making the playoffs isn't the goal).

He was less conservative than last year but clearly made mistakes. We are still in good hands for the future. Reid made mistakes as well. There isn't a magic coach out there

McDermott is a defensive coach who’s defense gets out coached in big moments

Can’t plan on facing Mac Jones every year in the post season

Phillip Rivers tore his defense apart last year. Watson had a huge second half against them, Mahomes has destroyed them twice

They’ve had one good game against Lamar Jackson and one against a rookie

I think he’s a solid coach. But I don’t think he’s a guy who can take them to the Super Bowl with a team that’s about to have cap restraints

A bounce or coin flip goes the other way and all of the narratives change. Reid has one more sb win than McDermott in a lot more kicks at the can. He has also been fired once more. McDermott will grow a lot moe after today, as he did since last year. The guy is in the coach of the year conversation every year and has helped build a sustainable winner. Our day is coming.

Marty Schottenheimer with the chargers, they were perennial super bowl contenders under him and he got canned. Coaches get fired that make the playoffs, it happens, it's nothing new.

Do I think McDermott will get fired? No. Is it possible? Yes. My guess is Frazier will be the one gone.

So the answer is it would be a complete gamble to think we would be upgrading coaches. We watch coaching idiocy every week in this league. Hell, Reid had a terrible punt decision today.

We were a better team, that lost because a defensive minded coach completely botched the last 13 seconds of regulation and lost to a team that has beaten you now 3/4 times and 2/2 in the playoffs (with Mahomes)

The loser of the game is the second best team in football. Last year we weren't that as we were outclassed.
