The good thing for NYR is that they are winning w/out Kakko, Laf, Chytil, Miller doing all that much, so NYR doesn't really have to consider giving them long term deals. Bad thing is that NYR isn't winning anything unless they start putting some pucks in the net and adding some secondary scoring

It's not about gaining a #1 over a 2nd rounder....its about value. Even though Laf is a past #1 his play doesn't warrant a 4mill contract...Also, NYR isn't in the same division as MTL...which is why many offer sheets to occur.
