Wow stick to Wally’s face no call. We should have a 5 on 3

Edit: follow through on a clear so no call was good.

It’s not true everyone does. If you want to be blind to him away from the puck and his puck management because he has a good one timer than there’s nothing to discuss. He’s a young guy that’s a big piece of the Islanders future and Barrys trying to teach him how to play the right way. He did it with Dobson and all of a sudden this year it clicked.
Wally is a big skilled kid that could stick handle and force his way through the competition in the college level but he can’t do it here. The guys are as big or bigger and also as quick or quicker.

If all you think he’s good for is a one-timer than it’s not worth discussing because that’s just not true. He back checks hard, skates the puck through the neutral zone well, forechecks, big power play threat and takes the body. I agree he’s young and needs to learn but the entire group of forwards make mistakes and the only ones that get penalized for it are 26 and 20.

Wisdom from Butchie - "That first pass has to be a good first pass."

Thanks Butch, no one ever thought about that.

Just edited my post. The Flyer was following through on a clear attempt so it’s a good non call.

Counterpoint: I'd actually prefer a terrible first pass

He’s in the honey hole and passes it to someone on a crazy angle.

Shoot it and the rebound can get pounded in by your teammates crashing the net with you.

Outshot them 14-4, that was a good period. Butch would say that they should play more good periods.

2nd periods have been their problem child for the last couple of years. I think they will play with a purpose in the 3rd and take this win home.
