About the time Biden has his next one

That means they'll have to have two then. A 2nd one to clear everything up.

I'm as frustrated as anyone. I don't know what to say about this. Pretty sure they aren't going to dump Fletcher. I could be off but I count 8 guys out injured from what was to be the opening night roster. All 4 centers slotted to play at the start of the season, plus the first replacement are out. Flyers are now on their 6 7,8. And 9th centers. No freaking Ellis. The only d man not having been hurt or out with covid is freaking Yandle. Guys not dinged, all out 3 to 4 weeks or more. Morin out 6 to 8 weeks from Sept, 10. Forgot about him. Guys hurt on the Phantoms.
It's hard to watch. They are never going to tank. Sadly, I expect patience for guys to get healthy and they tweak from there. I think G may go. Not sure on Risto. Could go either way. They both have leverage. Not much else to move after that. Anything else will be in the off season.

This all started the day they fired Hextall and Scott and Holmgren had that beyond absurd press conference where Scott said he wanted an "action bias" GM. Bob Clarke, you are the greatest player this franchise has ever had. Thank you for the glory years. What I can't thank you for though is that your recent actions have made me have to turn on you and dislike you for your recent behavior. Your services in any manner, and any level, are no longer needed. You don't know how to run a team in the modern day NHL.
Paul Holmgren, what an amazing career you had. NHL player, coach, scout, GM and team President. Amazing accomplishments. Had a good run as GM but the NHL has passed you by, You no longer know how to run a franchise in the modern day NHL. Thank you for your services but goodbye.
To any other of the alumni country club members, other than for anything ceremonial or community related, your influence and insights are no longer needed. Thank you and good bye.

To Dave Scott, maybe you're a good business man but you don't have the first clue on how to run a hockey team. You have disgraced this organization and the legacy of Ed Snider. Just plain good bye

Well said.

So who at Comcast has the brass to do what’s needed to be done? Is there a chance that Dave Scott gets a clue and sends the country club members packing once and for all? Or will it have to come from above him? Is that even possible?

I'm a hockey guy, not a business guy. I would think that as long as the financials are solid, Comcast doesn't give a crap if the team wins or loses.

The look on Girouxs face on the post game interview has me convinced he will waive NTC. He looked like someone who wants to get the hell away from this mess asap.

And then we’ll trade him for a conditional 3rd and 2021 version of Jake akeson

It's insane that he is still employed. You have national media talking about the Flyers, but the local guys don't say a damn word besides analyzing individual player mistakes. Nobody of any real standing is talked about. These guys were terrified to even mention Hakstol, or Vigneault when it was clear the room had been lost.

These are conversations that need to be initiated, and need to happen for change to occur. Do you believe if the Flyers would be in say a Toronto or NYR market this kind of incompetence would just be ignored? Allowed to continue?

I'm hard on Bill I realize that. It just baffles me to see such apparent apathy. This is not how other proper hockey markets function. Accountability is demanded after a decade of failure.

I have an incredible admiration and respect for Bill Meltzer. I view him as the 2nd best writer to ever cover the Flyers next to the great Jay Greenberg. I think his obvious apathy screams volumes. He's disgusted but has to remain professional. His livelihood and supporting his family demands that.

I think there is also interest in braun. If they don’t switch paths after this hellish season I will be beyond furious. What’s sad is that we would not have been worse off at all had we stayed on the draft only path we were on.

They would've been better off no doubt. I knew it the day they switched course. I knew it last off season. Don't be fooled if they get some players back and play better hockey. Don't be fooled if they try another quick fix and improve. They will never legitimately compete for a Stanley Cup with the current philosophy of the organization. Unless they get extremely lucky and "accidentally" draft some star players later in the draft.

One can be critical, and professional at the same time.

I will stand firm, and say the conversations need to be initiated. If they will not be done so by Scott, then those above him need to be aware of what's going on with this team.

Other NHL media markets do not stand so idly by.

I think it is hard for the Comcast writers to criticize the team since they have a vested interest n how the team performs financially. If they wrote objectively, even more fans would tune the team and them out, reducing clicks, readership, attendance, and Comcast profits.

There also may be an unwritten rule that they are to go light on criticism from those in charge; that is something we will never know but is certainly a possibility given the reasons I mentioned above.

No it wasn't. It wasn't of those that need to be mentioned. I respect the man, and it's partially why I think he would be a capable writer to get a much needed conversation going.

There are names in this team that are rarely mentioned, men who are employed for many seasons ranging from player development to senior advisors. That is where change needs to happen alongside a GM.

Surely you can see that. The Flyers as a professional sport franchise get an incredible pass from the media team that covers them. It's astounding.

The way to initiate change is conversation. It needs to happen.

It is beyond laughable that CC wears a Flyers shirt with “something to prove” on the front with the trash he rolls out every game every season. Another double digit loosing streak. What a bum

If he had any guts or actually cared how about next game fighting another skill guy as a way to snap an 11 game loosing streak or go out & run someone through the boards. A good leader would try something to turn it around not just same crap over & over

Every 5 Things game preview I write -- which goes on the team website and goes in depth-- is critical in a stick to the facts way. Every Postgame 5 analysis portion is critical. Every Flyers Daily I've done with Jason the last two months has been critical.

Sigh.

I wish, even though at times I have taken it a touch too far. You could say that I am pleading for the real culprits of this team's struggle to be spoken of.

It's those that wear suits, and not the sweaters. We have both watched this team for many years I believe. Both grew up cheering for a team that meant something not only to us, but our families. To Philadelphia.

That very team, the very fabric is being eroded. It's time to hold those responsible accountable, and at the very least initiate a conversation.

I will say that I could see the logic in what fletch was trying to do. I still wish we could have seen some semblance of the roster in place so that a real evaluation could have been done. I think the idea was to surround the young core with better players to allow them to flourish. I did not see this state of affairs coming. Not at all. Soon we’ll be fighting it out with Montreal and zona for last overall.

What I’m really worried about now is a throw the baby out with bath water panic situation. You start trading hart provy bee York and omg this turns into a 10 year turnaround. When every single young player you have underachieves then the problem runs deeper than they all suck.

I still don’t think the cupboard is fully bare.

On top of it all, I WORK for the organization. Yet I try to be as objective as possible in the public sphere. That's not the same as apathy. Plenty gets said behind the scenes.

Time to light the fires and start trading anyone/everyone. There is no rebuild with the pieces we have. We'd at least show some heart/purpose and will if we iced an AHL team.
