I hate all the Stafford Jersey’s here in Michigan. He’s not on your team anymore. He never brought you anything. He’s ruining your draft pick. Move on.

I’ve seen plenty of Flyers win after being traded. Here in Michigan, Stafford is being praised as blameless for his lack of success in his career.

Incredible game Pens Jets! More high quality opportunities than flyers had in 2 seasons in that game.

im sure its been litigated a ton, but its not as though he had a ton of organizational help.

other than the old guard that was a glut of generational type likes in brady, brees, manning, rodgers, who else was consistently better particularly in context of organization?

Considering he went 4th overall, the Flyers have plenty of company. The myth is that everyone but Hextall knew Makar was going to be the best player out of the 2017 draft (so far) but 2 other teams also passed on him. It is rare for everyone to agree on a single player which is why they pay someone to make a decision. What is total bull is that no one wanted Patrick or that some scouts rated him as a #2 center before the draft. That is revisionist history.

Most of this is to deflect blame and protect ego. Did Hexy pick the wrong player? Yes. Should he have known better? No. Has Fletcher totally destroyed what remained of this team? Yes. Does Clarke, who brought in and vouched for Fletcher, have a vested interest in deflecting from Fletcher's mistakes? Abso-fing-lutely.

in all seriousness, no?

i dont keep a rolling roladex on personal information like you tend to haha but from what i recall you are an educator of some sort? i wont venture about what you make as its not my place and the realm of education has a potentially enormous variance where its virtually impossible to just simply guess with any accuracy. but it is fair to say your not wanting to trade is rooted in some sort of vocational calling you have for the role that isnt boiled down to only money?

you are very fortunate if so as i dont think it is a stretch to assume in today's america most people dont have that, or at least anywhere close to the extent that they wouldnt jump at the chance to do something infinitely cooler like actually be a GM or a professional athlete. (and thats not even taking the financials into consideration, which again, without judging anyone on this board, i dont think is unfair to say most of us dont come close to)

Well.. I am assuming player is out at my early 50s. If I am envisioning myself as a player, what age is my body? And does that body house my current 52 year brain which has been formed by experiences that are mostly non-physical in nature? It's all too weird.

Coach: too much randomness, too little real power, not clear how much is analysis. Weird you have a GM choosing your players and you having to make it work.

GM and the like: hell no. Sports management to me seems a throwback to the 50/60s of schmoozing and old boy's clubs and 3 martini lunches. Not clear how much is merit. And at the end of the day, it boils down to lying to the public about your real agenda, which is far more driven by $ than the playing parameters fans obsess about. If you are gonna play that game, might as well go into politics then.

His career ended up not being as good but they'll never be another Lindros. Men his size end playing football. Dude was Linebacker on skates with elite talent. And FloHaake, Fopa is my favorite player too.

He is "special" and the outlier in the tight lipped, grim faced stoic world of hockey professionals..and he is American so he doesn't have that matter of fact unflappable nature as Anglo-Canadians do from their UK heritage.
- RajaAmpat

That unflappable stiff upper lip thing is fast disappearing/gone from the UK. I blame Lady Di.

set whatever parameters you wish. admittedly, money had a lot to do with the nexus. i didnt think there were a lot of people here making enough that they wouldnt jump at the chance.

hate fletcher all anyone wants, but what length of time would it take the average poster on here to make what he has in say even the last 3 years?

If Clarke and or Homer still ran the team we would have Makar right now.

However, I could see Homer called back into service temporarily should they decide to clip Fletcher before another GM was selected.

Either way there are three folks to blame for this mess: Scott, Hexy and Fletcher.

Let’s stop deflecting shall we..

- Joe Nardone

We’ll said.

I’m not sure they wouldn’t have drafted Heiskanen…although Clarke never was good with names….but the deflection of blame to senior advisors is amusing.

pressure is everything and they are getting to him without really blitzing a ton. he also doesnt have the wideouts that are going to deliver on those timing routes over the middle for him on a quick drop right now.

julian edelmen/wes welker arent coming through that door.

Todd Bowles made a major screw up. To blitz from the slot and leave Kupp one on one was beyond stupid. You double him and make sure you get to OT.

People did see this coming, the one who thought that the moves chuckle mad were not going to improve the team. It seems that those who thought the moves that were made were good ones, were wrong, while those critical of chuckles were right

Exactly. Been saying for 2 years this is where they were headed. Not bragging at all. I think it was very very predictable. Just took rock bottom for the apologist and homers to see the light. Also….

I can't wait until the fans stop going to games.. then, and only then, will Comcast make changes. The scary part is that if they do clean house they may hire a bunch of old dinosaur terds and it'll be the same crap.
This franchise needs to go in a different direction and hire some new, younger minds that understand the way that the game is played now.
I agree with everyone who says Clarke and Homer and company have got to go. It's
