Agree president of hockey operations is a big job. Look what JD did with Rangers...moves that were made were done with him consulted with Gordon. Lets get Fletch..Clarke..Barber..Brown..Lappy ..and all of them out of here . No Tocchet..No Briere...Lets start a new identity - hfc355

So the only reason Risto isn’t worse is because Yandle is on the team? - SuperSchennBros
I'm saying the only reason he's not ranked dead last in all the defensive measures among the d group is because Yandle is god (frank)ing awful at everything. If Yandle weren't on the team, Risto would be the worst out of all the regulars. |

I’m not sure this is rock bottom. Efforts like that and we’ll be the first team with a 10 and a 20 game losing streak. Yay - Hextall271
Yes, this is it. Doesn’t mean the losing will stop or the play will improve. Maybe they are an unconscious team, and we just lay here on the bottom racking up losses.

We literally had a dumpster catch on fire across the alley from my house yesterday -- took the FD about 30 mins to put it out.
Was way more entertaining than watching the Flyers.

im always curious how that happens. |

Here the thing. Like I’ve said for the last 5 years. To do properly when you have nothing like Philly does ( well not nothing like when hexy took over) but close it’s a 10 year year rebuild. I know people don’t want to hear that. But I’ve been proven right by flyers. Look at king’s accession to cups. I’ve said years ago you have to turn roster over 2 sometimes 3 times. With that said we are basically at step 2 in the process. We have some young players hart York bee and a couple in ahl. So we aren’t at very bottom.
Sooo move as much out as can now. G coots risto Ellis Jvr. All of them. And add top talent through draft. Even then in 3-4 years you gotta move out bee hart York to add to the process. Turn roster over instead of paying huge contracts and screwing your cap cough cough coots current deal. It’s really only way when at basically rock bottom.
Think what Philly would’ve gotten for g Jake simmer etc 7 years ago. Where would we be now? For certain not in this position and what did they accomplish? Nothing. |

No clue. They're putting up a new building so it was one of those big open dumpsters full of mostly sheet rock and wood trim and poop. Maybe they tossed some aerosol cans or other chemicals in there and something sparked it? |

So strongly disagree. You don't win poop in this league without at least some top tier talent.
Flyers continue to try, and prove otherwise.
They had the top 2 pick twice yes, and quickly believed it just takes one year of sacrifice to acquire the core needed to compete in this league. It doesn't take one season, and it sure as hell wont next year if they try to forcefully accelerate things again. - FlyerFan3260
Edmonton and Toronto both have top tier talent. Hasnt helped them. Boston is a good example
Marchand 3rd round pick
Bergeron 2nd Round pick
Pastranak 25th overall
Using the Flyers as an example is poor because we havent developed our prospects well |

The Flyers created 1 high danger scoring chance in the entire game against the Buffalo fricken Sabres. 1! |

There is absolutely zero reason to not fire the GM at this point. With the amount of sheer incompetence on display at every level you simply cannot trust the current regime to make the moves necessary at the deadline.
Comcast needs to get its head out of its ass and get it done. It should be announced tomorrow. |

I disagree and even if I did, there is no excuse for how bad Yandle has been. His mistakes are glaring. Like, he might as we softly hand over the puck to the other team bad. |

Who hires the next GM? The guy who would be doing that and the people who would influence that are a bigger problem.

Scared to mention Colorado, Tampa, Pittsburgh, Chicago, or Washington? Think LA wins without Doughty? St Louis without Pietrangelo? |

Getting smoked by the Sabers is just brutal. To make matters worse, Alison and MacEwen injured. I pray the Flyers make some moves at the trade deadline? Things can't continue this way.
With the sorry state of the Flyers this year, is there any chance that a good free agent would even consider signing with the Flyers this off season? - Thors-Hammer
Did you watch it? Guy was untouched. Should not have been out there. Medical and training staff: also suck. |

he should hang it up and become a scout already ... some people just can't seem to stay on the ice. - jd250
Or go to an organization that knows how to rehab players and only let them play when they are ready. |

He was out for an elbow injury. This time it looks like a knee. Why shouldn’t he be out there? This is his third different injury this season. The guy is obviously injury prone. |

allison has been hurt pretty much every year for the last 5-6 years. Him getting hurt is nothing new. Not sure if the organization is to blame for that
