I didnt watch the game as I’m down south but im damn impressed they got a point. Did we get lucky or was the 5v5 play not to lopsided ?
- CanuckDon

They held their own. Each player did their job and it could have easily been a Canuck victory .
Solid defensive game .

I really don't understand not using Hog in the shootout. He might have the best hands on the team. It's not just Boudreau either, Green also refused to let him shoot.
- NorthNuck

Well two things. 1) he is in the doghouse. The shootout is a reward (partially). 2) perhaps he sucks at it in practice. Slick hands don’t necessarily mean he excels on breakaways. His shot is pretty weak.

At the end of the day, if Bruce thought Hoggy would score he would get the assignment

Obviously the coach knows better than we do, but I still think he should be given the opportunity at some point.

Nitpicking at this point. We were fortunate to have our goalie perform that well and our D keep a powerhouse offense to just 1 goal. The PP getting a goal is a boon with out Miller and Horvat. It was a good result against a better team without a bunch of our best players.

Canucks didnt let Panthers dictate the play. Slowed the game down 5v5... excellent game from Spencer all things considered...

Thanks Carol, watched most of the game last night. It was a bit boring. Understandable given the lineup choices available to the Canucks. Good job by Spencer to take advantage of his opportunity.

I think Höglander should change his jersey number back, and the Canucks should unofficially retire #21. Lui has jinxed that number forever. Kind of reminds me of when Bure changed to #96. Has a number change like this ever worked out in favor of a player?

Wow! Great effort last night. Trade Halak for some picks, who is this Martin dude?

Team D was very good at clearing pucks last night. Martin left quite a few rebounds in less than ideal places but he still played great.

Hogz and Podz seem to be slumping right now. Not good that more young Canucks are slumping again.

Aparently Halak axed a deal to Edmonton. I wanna say Friedmen said that? I'm Ron Burgandy?

7 points in 2 MHL games. Hopefully he gets back to the VHL soon to play against some decent competition.

A defensemen that can shoot and score. Wouldn't that be amazing.

7 goals from Canucks D this year. Canadians have 13, Islanders have 10.

Makar 16, Josi 13, Ekblad 10, Hedman 9, Karlsson, Carlson, Theodore, Toews 8

Solid post, I was impressed with the determination of the team last night. They played a strong aggressive forecheck, Martin was outstanding, and our defenceman are just as good as any in the league especially 5v5.

Gutsy effort last night.

Both goalies were a bit lucky but nice to see Martin play well enough to get a point. Kevin Woodley was on the Donny and Dummy show yesterday, had some interesting things to say about the adjustments Martin has made over the years.

I call bullshit merely from the fact that Vancouver is battling Edmonton for a playoff spot....there is no way in fuckin way in hell, Vancouver helps them solidify a weakness,,,

58 goals against in 40 games 5v5. It's the best in the league.

Islanders would have to give up only 1 5v5 goal in the next 7 games to be as good as the Canucks.

Carolina has 59 goals against in 3 less games than the Canucks.

LA has 41 games played but allowed 66.

This kid will be a nice all-situations defenseman. An excellent pick by the Benning.

Canucks defensive prospect, Jonathan Myrenberg with 3 points (1+2) in Swedish J20 action today

He has 21 points in his last 16 games and sits 2nd among all defenders with 26 in 25.

It's good that he might be the best defender in the u20 in Sweden. Not great that most have full time moved up to SHL.

Canucks need to find a better development path for their youth.

Victor Persson seemed to have started out great in Kamloops but by the game sheets, he's gone from 1st pairing to offside on the 3rd pair now. I haven't watched a Kamloops game but not good if he has gone from 1st pair to 3rd pairing as a 20 year old.
