Have you seen Westway to the World or The Future is Unwritten? Both dynamite documentaries on Joe and the Clash

Seen neither but will look for them. Saw The Clash open for The Who in Seattle in '82. Saw Strummer playing with The Pogues at The Commodore in '89, as well. He was fun in Alex Cox's "Straight to Hell" and I was a fan of The Mescaleros. Among my favourite muscians.

The New York Islanders are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of legendary power-forward and Hockey Hall of Fame member Clark Gillies.

I always considered them rockabilly, not punk. Sure they dressed kind of punk/teddy boy but the music doesn’t sound punk to me. IMO, saying Stray Cats are punk is like saying Boston is heavy metal.

Now if you were to say Green Day had punk roots I would agree, but Stray Cats… not sure.

I once did “Like a Virgin” on a dare at a bar that took their karaoke very seriously.

Yeah I don't see them as a punk band either - I meant they came from that scene and it was a punk mentality, not necessarily a genre.

It was a bar in Halifax called the Copper Penny. I think it’s now called something else.
