I would like to point out given their history that some of what transpired must have been pretty serious to get to that point. - JRR1285
makes sense for this to be true

he literally might be the most under paid NHL star when comparing the # of games and his production with salary and eligibility for UFA status- - Greschnergy#4
its gonna be interesting because he could very well go to arbitration, ask for 7 million and get it and Carolina may have to walk away

Are we all talking about the same Tony? Yea he was a good offensive defensemen but was a dumpster fire a lot in his own zone at least with the Rangers. Maybe that changed this year but haven't watched one Hurricane's games yet |

His numbers look the part of a #1 pairing d man. He is also paired with Slavin which likely complements him well. |

How much can Carolina afford to pay him given their cap situation? Maybe he gets flipped in the off season since he is a RFA. |

and again I mostly agree but he also brought a nasty edge that could be thought of as a defensive skill and also with all his talent, if he wanted to, he could be very good in the defensive end- he is just a selfish wiener of a human (or just very immature)

Yea I was just basing it off prior years. Sounds like he is better this year. So more power to him |

I gotta say fair or not, the way the Rangers forced him out appears to have been enough of a scare that it has straightened him out completely. Hopefully he stays that way if someone gives him a long contract. |

Everyone seems to forget that if last season didn't shake out the way it did that this team might not be in the same position they are in now. It's outrageous how some "fans" are still stuck on the BS that went down last season.
This team is entering a game where they can cement their first place position and you have fans that want Georgiev in net and ADA to score a hat trick. - JRR1285
I aimed higher than a hatty and said 5 goals, I’d settle for a hatty though |

I think not only that but the fact that no one wanted to sign him for a while. |

Thats cause Brind’Amour is a scary dude. Im sure he still laces up the skates during practices and gives those guys a lesson in old school hockey. |

Tony's not an "Exceptional" player.
He's a really good offensive weapon and plays with some snarl, but his defending is suspect at best most of the time. He's a tremendous bargain for $1 million. I wouldn't want to pay him market value for a defenseman that puts up the numbers he does though.
