The Titans are a big, bruising team on both sides of the ball and they'll wear you down. Bengals defense needs to step up early and Burrow needs to put some points up when opportunity knocks
- Michael Pachla

they lost to houston and the jets and tannehill looks average this year

Generally great running teams, and any team that runs the ball to the number one seed in the modern NFL is a great running team, can run whether they have their star running back or Kenny Davis in. Whether Henry plays or not, TEN has a roadmap that works for them to be sure.

I still wouldn't mind seeing a blog about the goaltending over the last several years. So much talk about crap goalies but was it and is it the real reason for excessive losing. It seems like 90% of the teams in the league could come up with the same excuse to use goaltending as their main concern but it rarely happens.
As some believe there are so many AHL or ECHL level goalies playing in the NHL where are all the NHL goalies playing?
I have said it before and I can repeat my thought on this by saying the shooters and twigs they use make a big difference. Remember when Bobby Hull would wind up, players would scatter, goalies would tense up and the fans would move to the edge of their seats? Today every team has 20 Bobby Hulls that can also handle the puck like a magician.
As the game has advanced over the years has goaltending kept up with other aspects of this sport?

Looking at other teams next season Adams should make calls on:

Minny - Foligno - cap strapped team with a hometown boy - 2nd round pick or Asplund +

Philly - Zack MacEwen - VGK 1st or prospects - Weissbach/Asplund/Peterka late draft pick

Not many options out there

Perfect, I too was just thinking about him, A tough MF'er that can still contribute offensively with more then a few goals. This is the type of player you want, not Reaves...

Fighting is all most out of the game, I am not saying that you don't need toughness but all the players need to contribute.

Plus the 2 of the 3 players you mentioned can also actually score (Maroon & Wilson) Reaves is just a goon. that is why he has been on 4 teams in 11 years.

All I am trying to say is why can't Mitts (or anyone on the team) stick up for his Teammates and get into a scrum where he might have to drop the gloves? Hockey is a tough sport and getting punched in the face is not that bad. I guarantee you that if other players saw Mitts or Dahlin drop the gloves they all would do it.

This team needs talent, spots cant be wasted on one dimensional knuckle draggers.

Am of the opinion that It's not really their style so playing out of character involves confidence in oneself and the team around you. Losing and confidence generally are mutually exclusive,.

As long as they can actually play and contribute like a Tom Wilson. I would love to have that guy on my team.

you do not win when you don't score

25th in goals for

getting outshot 2-1

if you were middle of the pack for goals for, maybe you have a case

half our games we score 2 or less in regulation

no chance you can expect to win 25 percent of those games under any circumstance

If he gets suspended again in these playoffs what would you offer him as the Avs would most likely let him walk?

how many fight a year are there in the NHL 10-15 per team and that even seems high, most of the fights are just dancing with no punches being landed or barley connecting.

Its Hockey not figure skating

The short answer is the goalies are bad and haven't actually 'helped' the Sabres win. The last time we had competent goaltending was with Lehner.

Having that player keeps the other team in check, minimizing fighting and the cheap shots, heavy hits in the game. Take the blinders off about fighting, nobody messes with the toughest guy on the ice, hes the peacekeeper.

One of the biggest problems for the Sabres over the years has been team defense. And that includes back checking forwards and defensive awareness from blueliners. A lot of heat on Dell for last night but look at where the Stars shots came from. Almost exclusively from the top of the circle on down. A veteran team like the Stars knew where to attack a weak Sabres defense.

I think you have to dig a little deeper than that. Every team has games where a goalie wins it for them. Every team has games where their offence bails out their goaltender. Good teams win consistently with good goaltending and good offence. There isn't a short answer to the question.

Would you rather pay Kadri 7m for 6 years or trade both Floridas and Vegas 1sts this year for Travis Konecny?
