If you're the coach and these are the goalies you're given what else are you supposed to do?

Well it's a good thing they are only playing the 2nd highest scoring team on a per game basis in the Eastern Conference Saturday.

Graves looks like he’s holding back tears in this interview.

These jerseys suck.

Lottery odds getting better by the day. Carolina should be good for at least 2 touchdowns on Saturday…

Too bad its a below average draft. Atleast the higher the pick, the more trade value it should have.

I felt like there were a lot of positives in this game.

Like I’m positive I don’t want to watch this garbage team anymore. Mmmkay.

Play the entire game with an empty net.

Ugly loss. But was not expecting wins this season, just some growth among the youngsters. And I can see that. Need Fitz to hopefully do something at the deadline, and no we do not need more third and fourth round picks - unless he uses them to move up in the draft with earlier picks (Fitz has gotten burnt with other organizations jumping him last couple of years). Will start to read the 2022 prospects report more closely now. Supposedly a relatively down year after the top 10 prospects - with no grade A goalies in the pool.

We are in a tough deadline position, we will be sellers if we do anything but we don't really have anyone that would bring back a decent return on an expiring contract

Our biggest name would be Subban but even if we retained half he is still a 4.5cap hit which wouldn't really fit on any contenders team without taking back a bad contract and subban wouldn't get much in return

Maybe Fitz does another siegenthaler trade?

We need to have a great draft and not reach or go for someone like Stillman

We need to not use the pick and trade it in a package.

And who would you suggest?

As it stands the devil's are still a couple years from competing so going for someone 26+ may not help especially if their contract is almost up and they won't re-sign and the younger players will cost more

We have goalie issues as blackwood is one of the worst in the league and our back ups drop like flies, we don't have any goalie prospects that are top quality, I know goalies are tough to predict but no one has been saying that any of our goalie prospects look to be a #1 or 1b

Other than Hughes and the Russian we picked #20 we don't really have any high quality D prospects, bahl may be ok but nothing special and our D already has issues and who knows what we will do with Graves next year

Hamilton
Severson
Hughes who may not be in NHL next year
Siegenthaler
Smith if he bounces back

We don't have many quality forward prospects other than Holtz that are not in the NHL

Hughes has really grown and hopefully can stay healthy
Nico quietly having a good season but again with Hughes he needs to stay healthy
(Both have missed good amount of time the last couple seasons)
Zacha started very well but disappeared
Sharangovic started very quiet but picked it up lately

In the end we need forwards that can finish and without throwing the farm away which we don't have our best bet is that we hit a home run in the draft

Literally anybody who can put the puck in the net. Fitz tried multiple times this past offseason(Tarasenko, Meier, and Garland) and he needs to try again. Zacha needs to go. Boqvist needs to go. Maybe move on from Smith if someone is still really high on him and is willing to pay a premium. Put together a package with the 1st and get a scoring winger. Fiala? Laine? Boeser? Theres also possible UFA targets like Gaudreau, Hertl, or Forsberg, but i doubt we would be able to land the big fish in back to back offseasons.

Fitz has not been a good drafter, so in a draft this wide open i dont trust him to actually make the right pick. Which is why i want to move the pick. Outside of Wright, Lambert, Cooley, Slafkovsky, Nemec, and Jiricek i have no interest in anybody else around the range where our 1st would be.

This team needs a true top line scoring winger, another top 6 winger, goaltending, and depth on D. We're set at center and the top 4 D is actually pretty good but we need to get Graves/Sevo signed beyond next season, then you have Hughes coming in 2 years. After that we just need more depth because Subban is likely gone and Smith has taken major steps back. Maybe someone in the minors steps up like a Walsh but you need a 3rd pair/7th D that doesnt completely sink the team when called upon.

For goaltending, at this point we're just hoping one or both of the kids playing extremely well in Utica can translate to the NHL. But goalies are voodoo, so you just need all the depth you can get because you just never know.
