Nobody wants to realize why they got Ellis for what they did.
- MJL

At the ttime of trade, you were upset we traded are awesome youth, and thought meyers to be a future stud, now you think we didnt give up much because ellis is always hurt. I gotta call you out because you are the 1st to call someone else out for something they said in the past.

Will say transition game has been better, not saying much and probably because of less Yandle and more York

but will you ever give Fletcher credit if he does the right thing and has a good off season, I highly doubt it!

id like to know what he thought of the niskanen and braun deals when they happened. Probably hated them because it wasnt Ronnie

He hated the Braun deal lol. That ended up being a really good trade for us. I think he probably argued more of the timing but it was a good trade regardless of how much non success the team had

It's been an okay deal but the Flyers would've been better off keeping the draft picks and finding a cheap UFA. Every draft pick you trade means one less chance of drafting a good player. Nothing against Braun, I like him as a player but the Flyers needed to be drafting and not trading picks away. I've been consistent with that.

Tbh. I liked the niskanen trade at the time and braun worked out. Biggest thing, the team played well and the young players progressed. I thought that Fletch had the team on the right path.

I am still shocked how badly the team has regressed the last two years. It’s depressing.

You simply cannot take on that contract with a player with Ellis injury issues. That's the exact reason why Nashville traded him and why nobody else in the league was willing to touch him or beat the deal the Flyers offered for a top pair RH defenseman the quality of Ellis.
- MJL

Didn’t like giving up youth, was concerned about games played but not this. We all knew something was going to happen, I am not sure of what other options cf had. Myers and Patrick needed new starts. Right now Ellis is a disaster but he could get healthy and average 55-70 games a season, that just doesn’t jive with the Flyers and their talent level.

Yes, I know it was more of a timing thing for you. This team clearly needs talented players.

The Flyers have always had the option of retaining the youth instead of trying to fast track their way to the top. It is always better to be a team with failed prospects than to be an aging team with cap issues. The Flyers really are fortunate that this season has worked out poorly. It may lead them to regaining some future assets and cap space and a better draft pick rather than what would have happened if they had turned out to be the bubble team that most thought they would be.

Who did we trade that is missed? It would be nice if Ellis could stay healthy. Trading a first for Risto really became necessary as their play in their own end last year was both Putrid and SOFT. No one likes to give up a first rnd pick even if it’s mid first round in a weak draft, but when you play that bad Fletch had to at least attempt to fix the issues. Bottom line is the Flyers lack high end talent. Big misses in the draft and free agency have killed the current Flyers.

Braun is an NHL caliber d man. He doesn’t do anything great but really has no major flaws either. It’s a shame the Flyers have to use him as much as they do.

OK, Hayes out, again....4-6 weeks. The season is now officially done at least as far as the playoffs. This is an opportunity to actually see what we have, and hopefully do well in the upcoming draft. Some want to see what Frost can do. Play him at 2C for the rest of the season. Cam stays with the team. When Allison and Foerster are healthy, bring 'em up...Wisdom too. No better time to move G. Not for a player...another pick. Lets see what Fletcher can do.
