En fait c’est un peut l’équivalent d’un camp d’entraînement pour un vétéran de la LNH…. Même si Price connaît un camp de cul, il est le gardien dans le but pour le match d’ouverture…

Disons que ça l’aura permis à plusieurs de s’ostiner et se distraire…

sure you have some "colons de souche" like Réjean Tremblay who have a very archaic way of thinking, but I completely disagree with your assessment, and I find it's sort of insulting lol... yes, the province of Quebec definitely represents a minority in North America, and yes, the habs have a very important cultural significance for the province, so I don't see the big deal in wanting someone that does speak French to be hired. I guess you can't please everyone lol...

Insisting that the hire must be french and that the candidates will still be the best (followed by that embarassing tweet) is an obvious part of it but no point in dominating the thread with this

c'est peut-être le cas, mais le processus aura peut-être permis aussi de cibler des candidats pour d'autres positions au sein de l'organisation, on verra bien.

I'd argue if you ignored all that and just looked at the actions of the Habs when hiring and their rationale for french only candidates it is just as obvious but I'll take this and call let it go

When I'm talking directly to Pat, I will reply to him in French but yes I'm pretty sure Google translate is accurate for once lol. The thing is, Quebec needs to realize that speaking English is a good thing, we don't have to stop speaking French but speaking English opens so many doors in this world and that's a fact. Having a GM that has lived and worked in English for years will enable him to communicate more efficiently with other GMs so that's a big win. They still catered to the fans and media in taking someone who's already fluent in French though and I guess I'd just like it if it wasn't such a big deal...

The thing is, Quebec needs to realize that speaking English is a good thing, we don't have to stop speaking French but speaking English opens so many doors in this world and that's a fact.
