Ok now do coaches:

It's either Alain, Claude, Michelle or this time we went outside of the retreads and made the exciting hire of DD.

Yes, it impacts the options if these are the top candidates in the pools. It is hard to argue these constitue the best candidates each time they hire

- Takemedrunkimhome

so the habs can't hire anyone that isn't currently coaching in the NHL? oh my, wasn't aware of that rule.

yes, if the Coyotes suck that much it's only because of André Tourigny...

- Pat1993

I know...but people will use this as an example. A bad team is a bad team...even with a good coach

Maybe, but the backbone of his rebuild is still Panarin who came to New-York because every free agent wants to play in New-York, which he won't get in Montreal.

My C stands

He does. You should hold him down and give him a good spanking.

I think you're being a bit disingenuous if you don't think any time the Habs need a coach the same names, many of whom are retreads, come up. And they went outside the NHL and got DD...is there a soul still excited about that hire?

oh I'm not saying there hasn't been some "recycling" going on, but it seems they've finally put an end to that (hopefully lol). and in all fairness, with that current roster, whoever the (frank) you wanted to hire as an anglophone coach wouldn't have done any better (not saying Ducharme is a perfect coach and that they can't find better either, but I don't think it's fair to completely assess his work with this season).

I was a little surprised nobody found that funny until now. It's the anti-anti-french bias I swear

Ok. Now why, in your opinion, is it that recycling has gone on in the past?

because they weren't thinking outside the box..? to me it isn't because there weren't any other candidates, to be honest. and also, although I didn't always agree with the decision these coaches did have a certain level of success, before the last years of their tenure and getting fired, as any other coach would in the NHL.

Alain, Claude and Mikey T are good coaches. Not arguing that. Also not arguing that you can put parameters on the hiring and find a good candidate. Simply aruing that the wider you cast your net, yada yada yada...

can you even put money on Vigneault becoming Montreal's next coach? is that a bet that would even be accepted?
