So if I'm reading this right, you want to get McDavid so he can play defence for us?

Bold move, Cotton.

- Atomic Wedgie

I mean, Karlsson made a career out of being a "D-man" and never playing actual defense.

It's so crazy, it just might work.

Zero chance Matthews doesn’t play C, and doesn’t run the top line.

This is Matthews team, adding McDavid doesn’t change that.

- Arctic_AARDVARK

That is a bold take but a very lonely one among hockey opinion I would think.

I would trade in all of the other beers in the world for those 4 for the rest of my life if it meant warm weather 12 months a year.

Corona is undrinkable if it doesn't have a lime in it. And even with it, it's meh.

I've not had 2 of the other 3.

I never saw the point of beef wellington. Just make a roast and Yorkshire puds and gravy on the side and call it a day.

Yeah that Pillsbury stuff ain't bad. The at home Cinnabons are good. Pastry isn't fancy.
- Zezel

I have happy memories of my mom allowing me to roll the "crescent rolls."

Best part was whacking the tube on the counter edge to make it split open.

Damn, now I want some.

I've been googling around for crazy air fryer recipes - and several involve Pillsbury crescent roll dough. Wrapping Twinkies, wrapping Oreos. All sorts of good stuff.

I'm not offended by the Pillsbury crescent dough - what the hell, it's cheaper and probably yummier than proper phyllo.

It's the pesto that offends me. What the hell?

And I love how Pillsbury (correctly) decided that 'muricans couldn't handle "croissant." They are crescent rolls.

- Atomic Wedgie

Right?!!?!?! Wtf, pesto does NOT belong on a Wellington.

Wellington = British.

Pesto = Small village in Italy.

I disagree with the tastes similar part but agree that there's a lot of Canadian beer that tastes terrible.

As a gentleman who used to drink bleue dry 7.1 and max ice when times were tough, I really don't think Corona is terrible at all. Especially when it's hot out.

I'm thankful for Corona.

I can be considered an expert on bad beer. I happen to be a man that drank Carling and Olde E. as a poor child.

The other ones you mentioned, they anything like Corona?

I honestly don’t think there is a wrong move. I would probably give Matthews the edge on faceoffs and defensive shutdown but if they played on the same line I don’t think they would spending to much time in the defensive zone.

Matthews looked pretty good on McDavids line in the World Cup a few years ago.

Yeah, if they played together, I feel like their play would basically negate positions, and they'd just fly around doing what they please.

Pigs in a blanket will be Beef Wellington next. I only made it once. I found out as I was getting ready that our guests were Kosher and went running back to the store to get everything needed to make a second Kosher one. Neither one turned out well. Want to try again.

But if Bruno’s sells pre-made, might be worth a drive into the city.

It was the epitome of sophistication. No, we’re not having crescent rolls. We’re having croissants.

Really not convinced that Beef Wellington is of British origin, but the pesto ingredient is gross. The spices and flavouring inside the pastry vary from recipe to recipe. Traditionally the French include a combination of foie gras and mushrooms, I prefer mushroom, shallots and sweet peppers with herbs. I'm not a big fan of fois gras no matter how fancy it is.

Beef Wellington is a beef tenderloin encased in a pastry crust and cooked. Like so many classic recipes, where and when the dish was first created is a quagmire. France, England, Ireland, and even Africa have been sited as possible birthplaces. My vote goes to France. Wrapping meat in pastry was certainly not a novel idea in 1815. The French already had such a dish in their culinary repertoire known as “filet de boeuf en croûte.” Someone, somewhere merely rechristened it “beef Wellington” in honor of Wellesley.

I (frank)ing love foie gras

Just hand me foie gras and a spoon

Or fry two pieces of it and make a decadent double down out of it like joe beef used to

The heck is that crap? Grass?

Can't beat ground beef for me. Breakfast, dinner and supper if I had my way.

Wife makes fantastic meat loaf. With a ton of seasoning and onion soup mix.
