You trade for an injury prone player who is north of 30 and low and behold he's injured. He was injured in pre-season and has never recovered from it. Anyone who expects Ellis to be healthier as he ages is whistling through the graveyard. It's another sunk cost. One after another.

Konecny has a 20 game drought without scoring. That is absurd.

- PLindbergh31

At least Konecny looks noticeable… can’t hit the ocean from a dock, but he is getting his chances.

I don’t think the over all idea was horrible. I do think Hextall could have done a better job of adding or molding the current roster he had. Others have said he was starting with nothing thanks to Holmgren, but considering he had a nucleus G, Vorecek, Simmonds, Schenn, Ghost to start with I find that argument ignorant to the facts. Sure he had some salary cap issues and for the most part did a good job of managing that.
In the cap world, your 1rst picks or a few lower ones need to produce at the NHL level before they become a drag on the salary cap. Had guys like Patrick, Rubstov, O’brien, Sanheim hit then this team would be in a better position. Where Clarke was correct is the reinforcements that were drafted to replace that core have not developed to keep this team competitive. Hextall’s plan was never going to work if they didn’t draft and develop the “right” guys.

- landros 2

Saint Ronnie wanted to draft and develop. Which is what many teams do in all sports. He didn't come up with some new idea.

He did have a solid core as well as Ivan you can add to that. Saint Ronnie never did really take the draft and develop approach the correct way. Him thinking he was the smartest guy in the room didn't allow himself to do it. Either that or he was just afraid. Either build around that core you had or tear it down. His approach was and as you can clearly see the incorrect one.

It is also clear he was in charge and responsible for all his moves. At the end of the day he failed. Just like the current GM is doing. 2 utter failures.

Enough with Saint Ronnie, with exception of his son MJL, majority can see he wasn't good enough. Let it be and move forward.

Anymore Saint Ronnie talk will end in a ban as I have talked to Eklund about it.

My point was simple. Had the Flyers drafted and developed better the over all plan would have had a better chance to succeed.

correct. Also if they made better NHL level acquisitions instead of the bums they did bring in

Anyway does anyone think the current GM is going to sell? Particularly with RR, or will he double down and compound his mistake.

I think he’ll sell and he should. I actually like RR, and see him as an improvement but at this point it’s the easiest guy to move.

Let’s hope he starts sooner then later. No need to wait until the deadline if a deal is there now.

The organization with the most SCs in the last 30 years seems to have reached a different conclusion.

Just wondering if there was a guarantee to not be a healthy scratch as a condition to Yandle signing here.
- backfire

Whether it’s an agreement or just an understanding, what other possible explanation is there for Yandle not being a scratch? This will be obviously true if he is scratched immediately after the record is broken.

don't give a phuck what they reached. He was a failure here. State of the team and his track record while in charge shows this to be true.

I love the losing Bc it eats into Bills 40 year regular season winning percentage/playoff and cup appearances nonsense And flufff stats he likes to use to prop up this joke of a Franchise. This team is a few years away from a half century championship drought. I’m sure there will be more excuses and more at least we’re not franchise X or Y like I give a poop

You trust this incompetent GM to make trades at the deadline? So he's going to be in charge of making transactions and then be fired at the end of the year? How does this make any sense?

It will tell me he wont be fired. Unless he is overridden on any trades he tries to make, if so then can his ass now.

Still a lot of games left so his status is lilkely TBD.
