Nice.
You guys are posting stuff I'm exploring lately. Huge bands that I haven't really been a deep fanboy of - specifically The Beatles, Pink Floyd and David Bowie. So starter album hot takes are welcome.
I'm listening to tons of new-to-me music...jazz, drone and ambient...Spotify is a playground...I'd pay fifty bucks a month for Spotify if I had too, easily - Zezel
Jeff Beck Truth is an amazing album and opens you up to the career of one of the top three or so guitarists if you’re not already a fan. Ron Wood on bass, Rod Stewart on vocals, Micky Waller on drums. John Paul Jones and Keith Moon show up as well.
I would have given up seeing Zeppelin for seeing these guys - easily.

[quote=mjones242]Peter Gabriel's version of "Heroes" is one of the few covers that I actually prefer to the original:
I like Gabriel's version and remember when I first heard it I liked it. I like Blondie's version better, the mostly vocal version by David Byrne is amazing, Prince's version is great as well. Less impressed by the versions by Oasis, Depeche Mode and the Wallflowers. Bowie's version at Live Aid was amazing.

I think Blondie's version is okay and Byrne's version doesn't quite do it for me. Shockingly, Depeche Mode - who are one of my Top 5 fave bands of all-time - do not elevate the song much either, which greatly disappointed me (I wonder if this was covered in the 80s/90s w/ Alan Wilder if it would have been more inspiring?).
Gabriel's version manages to be incredibly haunting, moving, and does something entirely different with the arrangement. But hey, music is definitely subjective as hell -- funny how different songs can leave you cold while it weaves spells on others.
One prime example (for me), is Destroyer's cover of New Order's "Leave Me Alone" -- I can't say it's necessarily better than the original (or even deviates much), but on some days I prefer it (funny how taste can wax and wane too!) - I love, love, love Dan's vocals on it. My buddy thinks this version is underwhelming. 🤷

Kase and Kampf are a solid duo. Dubas did really good on that one. And I'm pumped Mikky is finding his game again after being MIA for a year and a half - UsernameUnknown
Ya, its nice to see mickey be useful, hes had several defensive lapses, but overall hes been good.

Maybe my all-time favourite concert

Great concert indeed! Dave is such a great performer.
My personal fave live performance by them was their Devotional tour. They come right out of the gates with a phenomenal version of "Higher Love" that just kicks so much ass:

Agree, Jeff Beck is one of the all time guitar greats. He could have used better material and Producers (like he had George Martin on Blow by Blow) He was sensational when I saw him in 2013 at the Sony Centre backing up Brian Wilson's band. His versions of Little wing with his own band and A Day in Life with the Wilson band were amazing.
