I couldn't tell how much they missed him, but I was surprised how much I missed him and his mutant neck. - Zezel
Well he's the difference between having or not having Clifford in the lineup. So by that metric, he's important. The 3rd line seemed weaker both offensively and defensively without him. I think it was Garnie who posted the bottom six's #'s with vs without him a few days ago and I was definitely surprised.

It seems like somehow he does good things even with his awkward skating style. Some of the stats on that third line are surprisingly good. They get the job done.

Kase and Kampf are a solid duo. Dubas did really good on that one. And I'm pumped Mikky is finding his game again after being MIA for a year and a half

The less heralded companion piece to The Nile Song:
It's a shame they didn't explore in this direction a bit More... - mjones242
Nice.
You guys are posting stuff I'm exploring lately. Huge bands that I haven't really been a deep fanboy of - specifically The Beatles, Pink Floyd and David Bowie. So starter album hot takes are welcome.
I'm listening to tons of new-to-me music...jazz, drone and ambient...Spotify is a playground...I'd pay fifty bucks a month for Spotify if I had too, easily

If Mikky can chip in at a 20 goal/season pace...that would come in so handy for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

For 1.6M he was even worth his play last year. - Santo_44
I think keeping him vs not keeping him really was a 50/50 gamble. There were definitely reasonable arugments on both sides. Nobody is sure if he can keep pace with how he started his tenure here. After some serious injuries, who knew for sure. But you're right, that's a decent cap hit, and holding on to him may appear to have been the right call.

For just 800K over the league minimum it is a no brainer for me.
Last season he was worth his cap hit, going into the season it was reasonable to think he would improve since tendon injuries usually take a year or 2 to get close to 100%.
Only way you were going to trade him is if the leafs were able to get a massive upgrade and you absolutely needed to shed the 800K.

Not necessarily. I think Dubas is okay with losing a trade if it's minor, and he has his "good intentions" to use as a veil, like the previous Euros who didn't work out here. He asked for a trade at one point. Not too often the team comes away on the winning side of the trade when that happens.

I like this version, there are several other famous ones, none are as good as Bowie's versions. The one recorded by Fripp live in Berlin in 2016 is exceptional. The period that Bowie lived in Berlin produced some amazing music. His trilogy with Eno Heroes/Low/Lodger of course but all the offshoots. The Idiot and Lust for Life by Iggy Pop, some amazing Eno music. Here's a song Iggy did with Bowie, saw them perform it in a small bar with Bowie on piano. Siouxie and the Banshees covered it. Interesting bit about Heroes - the story about the couple that Bowie created "and the guns shot over our head and we kissed as though...." was about his fabulous producer Tony Visconti. Bowie was at the wall and saw Tony banging his girlfriend by the wall - which was the inspiration of this great song.

Peter Gabriel's version of "Heroes" is one of the few covers that I actually prefer to the original:
